Bizarre situation during a minor challenge match between Armagh and Louth in Darver this afternoon. After 15 minutes the match was stopped when the Louth officials discovered that there were 2 Kildare selectors watching the match. Match was restarted after about 10 minutes after the 2 gentlemen had been shown the door.
Were they spies or scouts??
This is wrong on so many levels.
Kildare believing that sending scouts to a friendly match will give them an edge.
Kildare believing they need some sort of tactical edge to beat Louth.
Anyone at all believing there will be a seismic shift in Louth's tactics between league and championship, a change so big that it needs extensive matches to either play or understand.
Louth believing that creating a fuss about Kildare spies is more beneficial to their preparation, than keeping players focused during the friendly match.
Louth throwing fellow GAA members out of a GAA ground for the crime of watching a match.
I despair.
The men who escorted the Kildare men out of the game need to take a look at themselves. Ridiculous.
Disgraceful stuff.
The authorities need to come down hard on the flourbags here.
A 3 month suspension from all intercounty football championships (especially senior) would be in order.

I think the key word here is
minor. Y'know. Not senior.
On what grounds (that is to say, what pretext) were they removed?
If it was a minor match, perhaps they were removed because they were priests.
Were they escorted to the county boundary?
One good thing about Louth is that the county boundary isn't far away!
Knowing your opposition is just as important as knowing your own team. Completely OTT by Louth, adding pressure to their own team.
Wearing Meath jerseys as a disguise was a bad idea.

Ulster is a great place to see people looking at themselves before they catch themselves on.
Ah minor, not senior.
Still the majority of the points hold through.
I'd say it's very rare that any 1st round county minor team has actually lined out as an XV before. The whole age group is one big experiment.

Great post, this situation is beyond comprehension and is ridiculous.
