Our house was coming down with singles (2 older sisters) id say easy 1000+, the mother fecked them all in the bin one day after cds came in. I used to like spinning them backwards on the record player.
Bought this in Dublin as an eleven year old on the way to the 1974 u21 final in Croke Park, Mayo v Louth.

Clearly remember buying INXS' 'Kick', pretty sure sure I bought stuff before that but none memorable enough to remember.

If you tell me how the PM's work I will let you know.
Dirty Deeds done dirt cheap - AC/DC.
4.99 in 1979. Jesus music was expensive then.
In my defence, I was ten years old. :-[

Showing your age Billy...... this was on a 1976 TOTP repeat on BBC 4 saturday night. Guess who was no1.
I'm so fecking old I actually cannot remember the first single I bought but it may have been "Two Little Boys" by Rolf Harris
Like Billys Boots I have to play the age card here...I was seven.
By the age of 12 my taste had improved enough to make my first album purchase "The Psychomodo" by Cockney Rebel, a much under rated piece of work.
First album was a K-Tel issue called Hot Tracks from 1979. On cassette.
I was never a singles guy - I would imagine it was Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeets Make it Work for Self Aid.

I bought that album ten years later for 5.99.
I think we did this thread a few years ago - so at risk of contradicting myself due to old age:
Single: Was one of either Burning Bridges by Status Quo, or Technotronics Pump up the Jam (I'm sure a google search would tell me which one was out earlier, but feck that) - both on vinyl.
Album: Either New Kids on the Block, or The Very Best of The Eagles - both on tape
The first ones I BOUGHT were
1st Single - Like Clockwork - Boomtown Rats
1st Album - Off the Wall - Michael Jackson
was "borrowing" loads of Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel stuff, etc from uncles and aunts.
First album was Ace Of Base I think.
First single was Peter Andre Mysterious Girl with my confirmation money.
Can't recall the first single but pretty sure my first album was, For those about to Rock by AC/DC
First single was this bag of shit:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68ugkg9RePc
first cd was a compilation one called Hitz Blitz. then Mike and the mechanics greatest hits.

I stumbled upon the Self Aid album and CD in a box earlier today, I think the CD was only released in Japan for some strange reason. Oddly enough it's 28 years ago tomorrow since Self Aid.

Hate to tell you this - I was @ the U-21 Football Final that year in Croke Park & it was Antrim v Mayo. Give us some credit, at least!!
First single: Stuck in the Middle with you, Stealers Wheel (long before Reservoir Dogs, btw)
Can't remember first album.
I'd two older brothers so I just listed to their music before I eventually bought my first, Circus by Eraser (I didn't know) and Curiosity killed the Cat
first album i got, not bought but borrowed from the library was kiss destroyer, never done singles, tommy vance, dave fanning and john peel on the radio, a cassette tape and a record button provided the singles.
I cant remember first one i bought myself, ac/dc who made who i think.
First single was 1999 by Prince
I think Born in the USA by Springsteen was the first album.

Mine too!
First one I bought
Thin lizzy - live and dangerous
Think it was an INXS album - Kick, but could have been Something Happens - Stuck together with god's glue, that is sticking in my mind for some reason.
It's a habit i've fallen out of, i've never bought a download in my puff, dont really download either, still buy CDs when i find something good, but struggling to remember the last one I bought.

Now that I think about it, that was bought for me at my request as a birthday present. Can't rightly remember the first single I bought, but I remember the first LP I bought:
I saw it in a record shop in Belfast and had to get it because it had this tune:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBv5E1Q-Oj8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBv5E1Q-Oj8)
Still sounds decent today if you ask me.
Electric Blue was on that album too:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUFOVu1CurM (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUFOVu1CurM)
Cheesy 1980s video, but still sounds as good as ever to my ears. I got a bit of slagging for my taste in music at the time, but I didn't care as long as I enjoyed listening to it and I listened away.
I had to be a fan to buy music in those days because I was content to sit listening to the radio with my finger poised over the Record button. Most of the music I listened to was taped off the wireless. I have an easier time remembering the first blank tape I actually owned, which was an EMI Super C60. I was very young at the time and this was a big deal for me to own something like that. I got it by sending four order forms in from packets of Kellogg's Corn Flakes.
Mine was either Ace Of Bass or Peter Andre.
I'm too embarrassed to say what my first single was but my first album was Feel No Shame by Aslan. Still have it in the attic I'm sure. My first CD Album was Appetite for Destruction! I'm sure you all have a copy!!
I don't remember and, since I don't care, I can't imagine why any of you would.
Didn't really get singles. This was a present from a visiting American cousin.

First single Mull of Kintyre by Wings
First album Prince Charming - Adam and the Ants
