Title: Wicklow brawls in the headlines - AGAIN!
Post by: LeppinMick on September 12, 2011, 01:39:52 PM
Once again Wicklow club championships make they headlines for all the wrong reasons. This is now an annual feature of the club championships in Wicklow and is reflecting poorly on the GAA as a whole. Some in Wicklow try to believe they are unlucky to get this bad press but in reality this doesn't happen in every other county.

Obviously whatever punishment WCB are issuing isn't working and this problem arises time and time again. There were 10 Red cards this weekend in SFC alone! Its a sad reflection on a competition when a team withdraws its players from the field. Is it now time for Croke Park to step in and restore order?  Or maybe the water should be tested for some sort of 'anger-inducing' chemicals???

Really? 3 red cards in the Athy v Sarsfields Kildare SFC quarter-final yesterday including mass brawl at the end.

Rathnew involved - now there's a surprise ;)

PS  -well done to the Dunshaughlin lads for beating hot favourites Donagmore/Ashbourne to reach their first Senior final since the glory days of the early noughties
