40mins later he was up and back on the pitch.
Some hard men in this game.
Damn!!! He got creamed!!
Jordan Lewis is going for the ball not sure what the other guy is doing
Smashed.
Some guts there.
holy frick, that's gotta hurt!!! :o
"Wonderful courage from both players" after one guy gets absolutely poleaxed when the other jumps straight into him :D
No sport in the world comes close to the courage of AFL players. Such an insular insecure nation are the Aussies.

This dude got up and finished the game also last weekend.

I'm inclined to agree and sadly the media are very much at fault for this. Alot of chest-beating and self-glorification going on especially on Jan.26th. Australia/Invasion Day and April 25th. ANZAC/Cannon fodder for the poms Day.
Mother of God that was some whack. That mans my hero.
That's a hell of a hit, fair play to him for returning. After seeing stuff like this, it really pisses me off to look at all the feigning of injury that's becoming prevalent in GAA.
In regards other comments, there must be nothing worse than being stuck in a room with an AFL fan and an NRL fan during a 'my sport is tougher than your sport' argument. You only have to look at the comments on the youtube link to get an idea of it. It's so bloody retarded.
The glorification of cowardly cheap shots in that sport is nauseating. Same thing in American football. Some braindead steroid junkie takes out an opponent from the blind side and it's all high-fives and air punching and moronic roars from the commentators. What's to be applauded about bushwhacking a fella with no danger to yourself when he's at full tilt and not looking or expecting it? For people with normal values that's a cowardly assault.
Nothing brave about the bulldog player in that clip. Cheap shot
Commentator = "Wonderful courage from both players"
Its almost identical to the Linden/Bellew incident a few years ago in the club championship (where Linden was moving to catch a ball dropping over his head and Bellew hit him) and I doubt anyone on here would mention courage or bravery.

Certainly a cheapshot as he was shrewd enough to get his arse/thigh area high enough to clabber your mans head.
Fair dues for the lad to being able to continue but as he didn't see the other lad i don't think bravery comes into it.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned this.....

Cheap shot of the highest order
Certainly a cheap shot. How thats within the rules in a sport I'll never understand, not to mention the fact that after a concussion like that he should not have been allowed back on the pitch.

I played a season of aussie rules last year in Perth, its definately tough sport and with a hell of a lots of running involved. They love seeing fellas show courage and bravery when going for the ball, anybody who has wing mirrors on when they play need not sign up. Australia has to be the most macho country in the world when it comes to sport.
Although Gaelic is much more skillful and a lot quicker. You should see the average aussie club footballer trying to kick a round ball, my god they are pathetic at it.

Fcuk...dunno about that! I'd imagine more skill would be needed to control an egg shaped ball, bouce it, kick it, etc, etc
I love the mark though and I hope it passed at the weekend in Newcastle.

Im telling you Gaelic is a much more skillfull game, aussie rules is basically catch, kick and tackle. The club to county step up is big in gaelic but the step up from club level to AFL is massive obviously because AFL is professional.
There was a fella from my clubs 2nd team who could jump on top of 6ft5 mens heads and take marks that you wouldnt even see in AFL. Never seen the likes of it ever before. Anyone whos doing a bit of traveling in australia and is heading to Perth, Mt Lawley Hawks is a great club to join.
There in East Perth, did a bit of work for HBOS there in a previous life time. There certainly love their footy in WA.

Absolutely agree with JS...but what he didn't admit to was that he wasn't good enough to play Gaelic over here so we suggested he play footy instead, eh JS ;) By the way, tell wifey (to be) the cops are still chasing the owners of the car as they still haven't paid the fine and the car is still registered under her name and the letters are still coming to this address. Email me their details (as best you know) cos if they put a black mark against her name, she may not get back into the country again when you convince her to come over here next year to sign up with Greenwood.

I think you are wrong about the American Football but 100% about everything you said about the Aussie rules. And as GBB and someone else mentioned - there was nothing resembling bravery in the first clip. The guy that got poleaxed never saw him coming and the other guy was downright cowardly.

I had forgotten how bad this was. Jaysus.
Thats going to be our before the match video for next week ;)
Who was it from Fermanagh that got taken out of it by a player who was returning to the field after an injury, got completely blind sided and was taken from the field in an ambulance. Think it was against Donegal. Was a few years ago now.
