Title: Who makes the best pitches?
Post by: Cloc Mor on February 10, 2007, 03:00:37 PM
I suppose we all associate the making of pitches with Prunty from Fermanagh.  I was up a Saval recently to see a wonderful pitch made by Pattersons.  There may be others out there as well.  What are your experiences from your own clubs and who do you feel make the best pitches?

Whilst we haven't had a pitch made by them, Tony Pattersons have done wonders with our existing field over the last 3 years with drainage, sanding etc - work is always top notch.

We have a Prunty one which is 4 years old. Its as good now as it ever was.
It can take a serious bit of abuse and recovers in no time.

No matter how much rain falls the pitch will always be hard under foot and won't divit.

Handy because we know that a match will never had to be abandoned due to conditions.

Haffey makes a seriously good pitch! Derrytresk (in the middle of the moss) has to be a  monument to hs ability!
