Title: 'Guerrilla street' hurling in US capital
Post by: Zapatista on February 18, 2010, 02:24:27 PM
It may still be a few weeks yet before St Patrick's Day, but yesterday at lunch-time in the heart of snow-covered Washington DC an unusual Irish drama was played out.

The Irish arts organisation, Solas Nua, in conjunction with the local GAA club, DC Gaels, brought 'guerrilla street' theatre to life.

Guerilla Street Hurling surely originates in the Holylands.

Time was you could barely walk through it without a couple of half cut hallions pucking a tennis ball about.

The exaggerations surrounding the holylands are still alive and well I see
