Title: Tragic Story in Cairns, QLD today
Post by: Never beat the deeler on January 06, 2010, 09:52:56 AM
Just heard on the news this evening; a 23yo Irish backpacker killed when an out of control car hit him as he was sitting on a grassed area. Terrible stuff. My heart goes out to his family.

Horrible news to receive in any circumstances, but cant be easy when he's so far away from home.

Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced for a young Irish man who was killed in Australia yesterday.

Donal Patrick Bolton, 23, from Ballinagar in Co Offaly died after an out-of-control car struck him and his girlfriend in Cairns.

She is recovering in hospital with minor injuries.

It is understood the couple had only been in Cairns for one night, having stayed at a backpackers' hostel on Monday night.

Sad news.  Makes you think that some things are more important than the inconvenience of snow.
