Title: Question For Techies
Post by: Pangurban on December 27, 2009, 09:15:41 PM
Is there any way to add SP2 to a dodgy copy of Windows XP Pro with SP1 installed.

I ran into this problem a couple of years back when I wanted to do a post-SP2 reinstall with a pre-SP2 installation disc. Can't remember exactly what I tried or the exact circumstances, but the solution did involve finding a post-SP2 installation disc.

When you say "dodgy", so you mean illegal or corrupted/damaged? Depending on which it is, you might find some useful stuff on the Microsoft site or forums.

Apparently you don't need SP2 to install SP3, as long as you have SP1a.

Get a new key and get a key changer. A simple torrent search will get you both

Did that myself once upon a time. There is a little file out there in cyberspace somewhere.
