Countdown maths whizz Rachel Riley has split from her boyfriend of four years.
The 23-year-old broke up with Jamie Gilbert, 27, but said that the stress of her new job was not to blame.
The Oxford graduate, who took over from Carol Vorderman, said: 'I split up with Jamie a couple of months ago. I am single now.
'We just became friends. It wasn't the pressure of work, it was just a mutual thing.
'I was with Jamie for four and a half years, so it was a long time and we are still really good friends.'
The couple met at Oriel College, Oxford, where Jamie was studying Classics, and hit it off over a love of sports.
His father is a wealthy computer tycoon and the family live on a sprawling estate in West Sussex. They previously sold a house to Cheryl and Ashley Cole.
Jamie, who joined Mensa aged 13 and is a former chess champion, works for his father's company Powerdesk and drives a £250,000 maroon Lamborghini Murcielago.
It was his mother, along with hers, who persuaded her to apply for the job on Countdown.
Rachel said they would be remaining friends.
She added: 'It has been a long time since I have been single. I am so busy, I don't have time to do anything else.'
But Rachel did admit to The Sun that she has her eye on comedian Bill Bailey.
'I keep asking if they can get Billy Bailey on the show. I absolutely love him.'
The presenter, who celebrates her first anniversary on the show in January, will have no shortage of offers.
Even though viewing figures are falling for Countdown, Rachel has won over many male fans on the show, particularly with her short dresses and when she cheekily came up with the eight-letter word 'horniest'.

But Rachel, from Southend-on-Sea, will have trouble fitting in a new man as she spends all her spare time practising Countdown maths games online.
'It just keeps you active. I go on with fake names so most of the people on there don't know it is me,' she said.
She had a difficult start on the show after claims she kept getting the sums wrong - when studies showed she was actually getting more maths games right than Carol Vorderman.
Rachel has also reportedly signed up to give maths challenges to the Celebrity Big Brother contestants when the show starts next week

Rachel has a more solid build about her.
