The announcement by Coca Cola of a major review of its sponsorship and commercial endorsements appears to spell the end for the International Rules series. The company's decision to move away from sport and entertainment based activities and to concentrate on "green" projects and community-based initiatives that are geared towards sustainable local employment will surely end the farce of the failed aussie rules experiement as it was the Coca Cola money that kept the charade on the road and in the curent climate a similar sponsor is unlikely to be found.
Like all good decisions for the GAA lately (eg opening up Croke Park) it will be forced on the association by outside events but is welcome nonetheless.

I'm sure they will find some one too pick this up
Coca Cola made it known 5 or 6 months ago that they were pulling out. I'm sure plenty of efforts have been ongoing since to find a replacement.

Was it really?
Was thinking of events that they could do instead that would appeal to everyone. One idea although I would have doubts if it could work would be a county 7 aside competition. Played from afternoon time and finishing under lights. Have 8/16 counties in it including the top teams. Could maybe have a qualifying event the week before for some of the teams. If you could attract the best players from the counties would be a very interesting competition and should be exciting. Would need to put on a bit of entertainment and try to sell it.
