I'm running a sports quiz later this week & I could probably do with a few more questions/ideas. Anybody got any good sports trivia they wish to share? The quirkier the better!
I'll post the quiz up on Friday.

Check out the soccer trivia quiz, it has some crackers in it... Will get thinking about other ones...
Had a look at the soccer ones alright, I'm looking for questions on all sports, GAA. soccer, rugby, golf, horse racing, elephant polo, etc.
Do a search for the GAA quiz on the main GAA board, it'll be a few pages back but some gud uns there
I was looking up stuff for you but ended up finding a ridiculous encyclopedia site.
Anyway I was trying to confirm that on 2 players have scored hat-tricks in the 6 nations against 2 diferent teams. I think it they are BOD and Mark Cueto. Might need a bit more research though.
Only player to play for 3 different teams in the Railway Cup: Martin Carney (Ulster, Connacht, Combined Universities)
What is the only 6 Nations team that Italy have never beaten at senior level? England.
Any half decent GAA history book will provide you with countless questions. Got one for Christmas and read in it that Kildare are the only county to win the All-Ireland twice with the same 15 players starting, first time I'd heard that and thought it would make a hell of a quiz question.
Might be an easy one but when was last year 4 teams in All Ireland senior finals... ( hurling and mens' football) with no player already held a senior All Ireland medal? Is not a trick question.
1987?
Galway might spoil that one.
1989 then?
1998?

Excuse me if this is wrong as I was asked it about 10 years ago and things have changed since but I have tried to update it but there may be more.
There are 22 different end names for teams in England's top four divisions. For example United or City. For a name to qualify the team name must have at least 2 words not including any of association, football or club. Also the words must appear beside each other. I.e AFC Wimbledon would not allow Wimbledon to count as an end name as Athletic and Wimbledon are not beside each other.
The question was originally asked to me as 19 but some teams have fallen out of the league and others have entered and I think its now 22 but I am open to correction. Without looking how many can you name?
Off the top of my head...
City
United
Villa
Rovers
Wanderers
North End
Alexandra
Town
Forest
County
Vale
Wednesday
Albion
Diamonds, Non league maybe now?
Athletic
Dons

Orient also

O'brien started with cork seniors in 1988-played corner back
It seemed at the time that O'Brien was plucked from nowhere and put in at the deep end, full back in an AI final. I remember it was a risky call at the time, but Cork won in the end. I wasn't 100% sure it was his debut, so it was more of a question than a correct answer.
