Title: The Official TV Thread
Post by: Norf Tyrone on December 28, 2008, 10:46:53 AM
After missing the 'Road to Croker' last night, I thought I'd start this thread for people to post recommendations of things that are on the TV. I am not one of those people who tend to watch some obscure sky channel for a documentary on underwater butterfly wrestling in the pacific, but feel free to educate on this thread as well.

So tonight I'll probably be watching;

BBC1 at 8pm: The 39 Steps
Mostly because the wife has a thing for Rupert Penry-Jones

BBC1 at 10:35pm: Match of the Day

CH4 at 6:15pm: The Secret Millionaire Changed my Life.

RTE1 at 6:30pm: Celebrity BaĆnisteoir

RTE1 at 9:30pm: Young Irish and wealthy

I'll probably have to get the SKY+ in action mind you.

When I seen this thread I thought, "that's a great idea" but unfortunately having scanned the tv guide the last two nights I can't contribute.  This thread is demonstrating that there is simply nothing worth watching on tv, even in this holiday season.  It's an outrage that the baboons insist on taking a licence fee of us.

I never bothered in the end up Tony. I was going to SKY+ it as well but realised I'd enough to watch already.

From Monaghan, played colleges for Keady. 4 All Stars.

That's what I wondered!

he's a Latton man (near the Cavan border) was a brilliant minor dual player - he was on Banty's panel for a couple of years.

He was on the Nicky Rackard team this year.

That looked like an interesting documentary about Dev and Churchill last night - didn't see much of it, mind.

Primetime on RTE 1 at 9 30 should be good.
Should be a good insight into the Israel/Palestine conflict.

I need the missus to stop recording so much stuff on sky+ so I can start my West Wing box set. Seven series of that plus a new 24! I don't have time for tv and the family. One of them will have to go :)

I've got plenty of good recommendations of different series to catch up on from different threads thread including The Wire, Mad Men, Criminal Minds, The Shield, Dexter, Deadwood - any other good stuff I've missed?

New series of House is taking Lost's slot on Sky on Sunday nights. Its well worth getting into if you don't watch it already.

Only started watchin Two and a Half Men recently and have to say its a top notch sitcom. Always expected it to be a very middle of the road US sitcom ala Everybody loves Raymond but its got a lot of subtle adult humour and makes no apologies for being a v chauvanistic male-driven show.
One of the highest rated shows in the states and always on Comedy Central so give it a go!
