Laois / Re: Castletown/Slieve Bloom amalgamation

OK, I was only asking about the Castletown-Slieve Bloom amalgamation for the adults, which last a few years.

I'm inputting clubs with players, so the likes of Patrick Mullaney and Ben Conroy would have played with their individual clubs and with CSB.

How long did the Castletown/Slieve Bloom amalgamation last?

For which years did it exist?

Just looking for the players who played club football in Dublin and the years they were there.

I have a notion of some of them:

Colm Parkinson Portlaoise to Parnells 2009
Colm Parkinson Parnells to Portlaoise 2011

Colm Begley
MJ Tierney
Darren Rooney
John O'Loughlin

Anyone else?

In football until 1965 there was no management, and actually no organised training sessions. Laois reached the 1963 Leinster football final and a 3 man county board representation picked the team, two of whom were the then controller in chief Lar Brady and Bill Delaney..

Was this the case in every county?

Think Tom Darcy was from Carlow

No. He was a Tullamore man, but worked in Carlow RTC. He seemed to play for whomever he pleased! He may have lined out with Laois too. From what I read, he was very forward-thinking and progressive for his time.

edit: beginning to get a bit messy. I missed the "selection committees" so will go back and add them in. I was misled by some papers than seemed to indicate that the "trainer" was the precursor to the "manager". Will update with selection comms for the years so far.

as it is, I reckon everything back to the very late 70s and early 80s are ok, although I should have put in dates or months.

/edit

All

I was wondering could you help me? I'm looking for a full list of Laois managers, in both codes, for as far back as Laois managers go.

I'll use this post as a sticky and edit the post as additional info is posted.....and see what becomes of it. I know there's a lot of recency bias below, but please add what you can.
