I don't think it is a case of both sets of fans being cagey here, it's a case of being sick of how things are going in their own counties. Both groups have literally no idea which of their own set of players will turn up.
I know in Kildare we need to be showing some actual fight and not be bullied like we were the last day. We have to take the rough with the smooth and finally get a win.
The losing streal simply has to end this weekend.

Late to this. I understand club officials should be protected and there should be insurance when they are doing their duties.
However, in this case the Chair used and abused his position to defame someone who he obviously had a personal issue with.
The defamation case was clearly enough to warrant the payment and in turn would show the Chair should have been removed from position and the GAA should not intervene in cases of defamation.

Shit gets real when the sponsors come in. He is wearing a jersey with their name on it in his Twitter pic which means they will act.
On all sides, it's fairly fuckin obvious to stay well away from that case as it is a legal minefield. Aside from guilty or not guilty the stuff that came out didn't have them in good light, so Walsh should have activated his brain!

Be interesting to see what happens now with Kingspan and Ulster as the WhatsApp alone has them in awful light, plus Vodafone #TeamofUs with Best rocking up to the trial...

GAA players don't need training, they live in their community, not in a bubble like other lads so are the GPA going to do a 'Don't be a sack workshop' or have some fuckin cop on workshop...

Oh AZ I am aiming most of my ire at the boards moreso than the mentors.

There are too many people who have been ran out of their mens and boys clubs making a hames of LGFA and Camogie. They don't give a shite about their players.

But Zulu, never mind apologists. Ray Silke called the man out on Twitter but will happily ignore his own clubmen doing it.
If we are calling it out we need to all call it out. We can't just attack the opposition when one of your own is doing it too.
As I said in the first half, not long after the red, a Corofin man went down holding his face when hit in the chest.
What's the difference in terms of the player's actions??

Obviously the Moorefield lads are coming out defending their player and saying he was glanced by the knee. They are very riled by ray Silke calling him out, which is a bit rich considering Lundy was one of the worst I've ever seen.
On top of that, on Saturday a Corofin man went down holding his face when he gort hit in the chest along the sideline. Ray didn't comment on that either.

What I am saying is that no team can jump on the high horse here. Most clubs and counties have lads that will go down holding their heads while peeking out the side of their eye waiting to see the colour of the card.
It's nothing new either and if they imposed the rules across the board it might stop, or just cause a shitshow of appeals...

I understand there will be a number of weeks until any ruling?
This will not go away and will be some craic when the English press have Rory in front of them. From that point alone as Captain he has opened his team and manager up to so much shite.
When it is all settled, one way or another then the real fun starts as Vodafone and the likes might take a dim view of what is going on. There will be numerous shitstorms that could have been avoided if they didn't go.

I havent looked at the rugby thread enough but seeing as this is standalone. What are the view on Best and henderson going to the trial?
Is that not ridiculous the week of a match to be going there, even in your own time?

Main Street that was very odd that day. I was at it and myself and a Farney friend were far from vexed at the row. Then Flano got a red, and I think him and Dessie were only ones to throw anything like a slap.
The real issue came when I put on the radio on the way home. Christ, one woman texted in saying her son was never to be allowed play football again!

They seem to not want to rock the boat at all any longer and make any serious inroads into fixture BS, which is a massive issue.
From the outside there seems to be a lot of photo ops about 'great talks' and initiatives with the same faces popping up in them all.
Would it not be better served coming in officially and have more transparency. Genuine question here, but what are the CEO wages?

I think in Kildare the talk is that there will be a game in May, two weeks before the county are out.
That is all well and good but are the lads going to be released for training sessions or, as has happened in the past they get one or two nights with their club team and then play the game.

I am being positive for now...Kildare by three. The main Dubs can't be fully right and would be on a later regime of tough training. Great chance for points on the board against a shower that will take them off most others.
What kind of team will Dublin field?

As it stands all those social issues are not going away and yet the GPA distributed €1.7m last year, and will distribute €2.3m in 2018 and €3m to inter-county players. That is money from the Govt and tax-payers GIVEN to lads who are playing inter-county.

That difference is already there between club and county and some of those millions could go towards other parts of the GAA and trickle down to the clubs with all their volunteers.
The tax system no longer just GIVES money to players, but just takes less from their pay.

Or we could just get rid of the player's grant and leave them their mileage like pre-GPA times.

NB NB NB NB NB

With the Tax option, I would expect the player's grant to be abolished and any benefits to be known to Revenue.

I actually forgot about Arlene and trying to get something done with them...
Artist style tax exemptions the way to go. Any Ulster tax experts here?
Actually, how does the grant work when Sport Ireland is based in ROI?
