mc_grens you say people in your office are worried every time someone coughs. In the civil service they get 10 days off for it so they are actively seeking infection. Unless I'm mistaken it's still only flu though and not the equivalent of Ebola that some quarters are making out.

I had the symptoms of it last night but feel grand today. Was out for a meal last night and when I come home I felt wrecked and had a sore back, legs etc. I just put that down to driving herself round the shops yesterday. Anyway, then I started shaking like mad felt really cold. The wife took my temp and it was 38.3.

All these are symptoms of swine flu, with the sudden high temperature being a characteristic symptom. Wired two Anadin Extra into me and went to bed. When I woke up this morning my temp was still high but I felt grand and still do.

I rang the out of hours doc for advice and she told me that it is unlikely I have swine flu as I'm feeling well but the NHS have advised that doctors are not to differentiate between flu like symptoms and swine flu. She says if my temp stays down and continue to feel well all day them I'm good to go.

You rang the out of hours doctor to tell them you'd a temperature last night? and we wonder why the NHS is in the state it is!

C'mon Tony!!!!

I'm sorry but that's funny.
No, as I have a 10 month old son with a history of febrile convulsions I rang to see if they could give him anything. The answer was no. I'll not be too hard on you though as I didn't say that in the post ;)

He liked to talk to keep the wolf from the door so to speak!
I think he spoke about the pedestrianisation of Norwich City Centre while on the job
Yes, he was against it!

I like bits of all of them. I think Full Metal Jacket loses something the longer it goes on, hard to beat the training camp scenes. Likewise for Apocalypse Now - I'm not really fussed on it after the boat trip.

The first twenty mins of Saving Private Ryan is amazing, especially in the cinema or with surround sound.

Overall though I have to say I love Platoon from start to finish and although I've seen it about fifty times, I'd still watch it again now!

Many moons ago when I was an attender the worst culprits were those in the back porch and the upstairs gallery. They would both empty at communion time, some going for the wafer then home or else just straight home/to the pub. After communion was just a formality, all the proper praying is done before that!

As for prods, I believe only CofI has regular communion so they don't really have the opportunities to escape. Anyway, most are probably at church because they want to, rather than because their mammy's would clip their lugs for not going!

Having to go out when I come home from work and put up the windows on the wife's car, which have been down in the driving rain about three days in a row now!

The Rolling Stones, Bangalore, 2003. Front row tickets for about twenty quid. It started raining for the first time in about two months and continued for the whole concert!

The Boss and Oasis concerts a couple of years back in the Odyssey stand out too.

What's the name of the singer who played with Philomena in the mid 70's?
Ray Lynam. Wiki is your friend.

Watched Duplicity there.

Load of balls. 2 hours wasted watching that crap.
Watched it last weekend. Thought the same - it got good reviews and has a good cast so I had high hopes for it. After the first half hour it really dragged and I totally lost interest. Julia Roberts though - must be in her forties now and has a few children. I still would.

True Romance
Interview with the Vampire
Spy Game
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

Snatch is good, as is Legends of the Fall, River Runs Through It, 7 Years in Tibet and even Meet Joe Black.
Meet Joe Black is one of the worst films I've ever seen. Three hours of gash in which Mr. Pitt appeared to be acting like someone just woken from a coma.
