So a little over two weeks away from the start of the Connacht under 21 Championship! we got the short straw in Mayo away & i would fancy Mayo to win the title this year.

Preliminary Round Saturday 12th March Mayo v Roscommon
Semi-Finals Saturday 19th March Mayo/Roscommon v Leitrim
Semi-Finals Saturday 19th March Sligo v Galway
Final Saturday 2nd April

GAA Discussion / St.Brigids V Nemo Rangers
February 24, 2011, 02:35:23 PM
Already a thread on the other semi Crokes v Cross so here goes...

St.Brigids V Nemo Rangers Saturday 230pm in Limerick.

Personally i feel this will be bridge too far for Brigids vs vastly experienced side, of course the long break hasn't help the Rossies but i'm sure they will give a good account of themselves & who knows they may pull off a shock?

Best of luck St.Brigids the whole of Roscommon are behind you!

A documentary on the remarkable life and career of the late Lt. General Dermot Earley,Cloch Le Carn will be shown on RTE 1 at 7.30 p.m on Monday, February 21st. Cloch Le Carn literally means "A stone to the Heap" and is an Irish expression which lauds a person for his or her achievements. This is a programme not to be missed by G.A.A. followers in Roscommon and throughout the country.

From hoganstand.

A county from Ulster and one from Connacht face a six-day turnaround between losing a provincial final and a round four qualifier tie.

Hopes that there would be a return to a 13 day turnaround next year have been dashed with the news that the losers in Connacht and Ulster will face the handicap once again in 2011.

The Connacht and Ulster finals will take place on July 17th and with the All-Ireland quarter-finals two weeks later, the Round 4 qualifiers will be played in between.

"Our hands are tied when it comes to All-Ireland quarter-finals," explained Croke Park spokesman Fergal McGill.

"By rule they must be completed by the first Monday in August and with some provincial finals only played two weeks earlier, we have no room for manoeuvre with the fourth round qualifiers."

"Four exciting gigs were announced. The original cast of the Commitments are getting back together to play nationwide shows in March 2011 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the classic Irish film. The line-up includes Oscar winner Glen Hansard as Outspan Foster, but sadly no sign of Tudors star Maria Doyle Kennedy.

The mini-tour begins on March 14th in Mayo, before heading to Kerry and Belfast (on St. Patrick's Day), and ending in Dublin on March 19th. Tickets for all concerts will be priced from €55.80 to €59.80. They go on sale on Friday at 9. Tickets for the Belfast gig are £36-£40".

Tour dates:
March 14: The Royal Theatre, Castlebar, Co Mayo
March 15: The INEC in Killarney, Co Kerry
March 17: The Odyssey, Belfast
March 19: The O2, Dublin

A donation will be made to the Irish Cancer Society for every ticket sold and the cast hope to raise over €30,000 for the charity.
