the ham sandwich was invented by a kerry fan in the early part of the last century. His name was Paidi o Sandwich and he was from caherciveen, Paidi came up with idea during a game in croke park involving his own home county.During the game he had a slice of ham with him to stave off the hunger when he met a neighbour with a slice of bread and and as they were chatting another neighbour happened along with a slice of bread. It appears paidi had a bet with the 2 lads and won their slices of bread and had nowhere to keep the slice of ham he had with him.He decided that it was best stored between the 2 slices of bread and lo and behold when he took a bite he liked it so much that he decided to call it after himself.
Pure true.

Was there ever an All Ireland won with by a scoreline that by todays convention of three points for a goal would have been lost?

In 1891 Dublin beat Cork, 2-1 to 1-9. A handy win for Cork by todays standards.

Also in 1889 Tipp thumped Laois, 3-6 to 0-0.

I was going to say.

Apologies for the confusion lads. I forgot to mention that in 1891 the rule was actually that a goal out numbers any number of points. So in the above case the only score that mathers would be 2 goals to 1.
