You'd imagine that is Lingard's last chance. If Ole gives him another chance it will reflect poorly on him. He's not good enough at this level.

It is hard to overlook McGeary as POTY. However when Tyrone do win an AI they do there best not to select Tyrone players for this award.

It is amazing what can be achieved when you go out with an ambition to win rather than not to lose. That extra pep in your step. Go long, take a risk, look for the extra pass to create the goal chance. Fantastic. Brilliant to watch. We were well worth our victory. We got our match ups right and rather than Mayo playing poorly we didn't allow them to play well and there is a difference. We controlled how the game panned out. It was not down to Mayo but down to us and how we managed the game.

We are back. That's my summation. Logan and Dooher have brought an exciting attacking edge to this team. They look for the goal, take risks. Such a contrast from the borefest that Harte presided over. Mistakes not allowed. No risks. Tap it over. Get beat by 3 or 4 points and go home. It's now man on man. Trusting the players and their abilities and they have rewarded them for that trust by putting in fantastic performances. We've got our swagger back our mojo. We are building a dynasty.

I was surprised Paddy went for Sergio over Rose... Given that he hates Sergio and lets be honest he's pretty easy to dislike.

Match play is a completely different animal, and with the totally one sided spectators you'll need people that will thrive on that. Poulter for me will always get the nod in match play for this very reason and coupled with he's 3rd in strokes gained putting this year (6th last year) means Rose was never really in contention.

Poulter is in for the very same reason Leona Maguire made the Solheim Cup picks, putts great and can do it under pressure.

If he is as good as you say he is, then why has he only 3 points from 7 matches? Fist pumping and bug eyes do not win matches.

He's 5-0-1 in the singles. 14-6-2 overall

Seemed to be a tickets floating about in the end. I was offered 2 on Sat morn. I think there was more than 40k inside Croke Park as well. Heard a few stories of multiple people getting in on the one ticket. Anyone else here stories like this?

Betting question,  if you wanted team a to win by more than 3 points;  do you write, team a,  -3?
Cheers

-3 they have to win by 4 or more.
-2 they have to win by 3 or more.

If the All-Ireland was back in August, schools wouldn't be able to experience this build-up excitement.

Very true. Wee lad away today totally buzzing.

Having a debate here with family. Should the first colour on the tyrone flag be white and red or red and white.

White and Red. White to the pole.
I am prepared to die on this hill.

I want to say that if Tyrone do not win (unlikely) I couldn't be happier that it will be Mayo. They're great people and have been great friends to Tyrone over the years. So while a Tyrone loss would be awful it will be tempered ever so slightly.

You're right about the analysis. It's just relentless. Trying to predict chaos.

Tyrone by 4

We simply won't lose.

The GAA is a volunteer organisation. Turning up to county matches is fantastic. But is the bare minimum. This is the showpiece of the year. The big arena. It is right that the GAA trusts it's volunteers to appropriate the tickets in the competing counties. Volunteers should be rewarded imo.

If you don't like that approach then people should join a club, bring forward a motion and get it changed.

McBride more or less saying Teachers should be vaccinated and there's no risk to the kids. I agree. Time to get on with the business of teaching.

Where would this group stand in Gaaboards estimations :)

A group of us (7/8) attend both All Irelands every year, we're from Monaghan so never as a competing county  :). A good share of us would attend semis/quarters and all our own county fixtures. All involved up to our throats in our own club in management, admin, coaching, refereeing, volunteering. Its not certain yet but I'd hope we will all get this Saturday. none of the tickets through the club as we didn't come out in the club draw but from a network of contacts built up over many years.

This isn't a Billy big bollix "look at me I'm going to the match" post but a reflection of the type of people that go to the final as I'm sure we'll see/meet other groups that we see every year.

Should we be giving it a miss this year?

Answers on a postcard please..................

Absolutely not. If you're lucky enough to get a ticket by being immersed in the GAA then good luck to you.
