RE should win. Bit of infighting in the Rynagh's camp, coupled with Diarmuid Horan gone back out foreign. He made an impact in the final and semi for them from the bench.

Do Kilgarvin join South Kerry now that they're the only non-senior team from the Kenmare district?

It seems 2020 will see Kenmare Shamrocks, Tuosist and Kilgarvan play in the East Kerry championship as Kenmare District will not run competitions.

Templenoe will join the South Kerry championship.

Kenmare District will field in the 2020 Senior Football championship, but if intermediate club champions Templenoe opt for senior club status, it will leave only Tuosist and Kilgarvan for the District team.

Forgot about Tuosist. Had it in my head that there were only 3 teams in the district as opposed to 4. Are Kenmare District around a while, or has there ever been a situation where they've 2 of the 4 teams in senior championship before?

Ferbane beaten by 2 points.
It'll stand to them, no doubt. Wasn't at it, but was sporadically listening on the wireless. Pats just seemed to have a surge. Senior in Offaly should be very interesting next year. Ferbane, Rhode, Tullamore, Edenderry and Clara all can probably win it on their day. Then there's Shamrocks who are probably the best equipped of the bottom 3, and were only narrowly pipped by Ferbane in the QF. Bracknagh will hope for survival in their first year up. If that wish were to come through, it'd likely be at Cappincur's expense. Then there's the groups and how they'll be split.
So Ferbane and Rhode will be in different groups, as will Clara and Edenderry, Bracknagh and Tullamore, and Cappincur and Shamrocks.

It's a pity that Ferbane lost out. Bracknagh too, although I thought that they were heavy enough favourites for their game. Peter Cunningham is going on tour with the army, so he might miss the start of the league, as well as a fair chunk of the training. Hopefully Shannonbridge can go far. We'd 2 teams in Leinster finals last year, now we've only one remaining.

Did you hear if many more Ferbane lads were called in to the OY panel, AZ? Apart from the obvious ones of Maher and Johnson. Leon Fox and Stephen Wren perhaps?

It's looking like the county panel will be in a better place come next year anyway. Hopefully we can get some of last years u20s in, because they were highly rated. Even some of this year's, which are Johnson and Farrell pretty much. Not sure if Nathan Poland of Pullough would be at their level yet, I think he was on and off the u20s team a bit last year. One advantage, for want of a better phrase is that two of our 3 representatives in Leinster are out early, unlike last year, where Shamrocks and Brigid's were in it until December, Brigid's provided 2 players in Cian Donohue and Dan Molloy, while Shamrocks provided Patrick Dunican and Nigel Dunne, until he walked. Shannonbridge have only one panelist from last year (Barry Rohan), although there could be more yet, the likes of Darragh Corbett or Ronan McEvoy spring to mind.
Looking forward to the O'Byrne cup already.

Some lovely hurlers on this team, and hopefully they'll continue to progress.

Great to see Port making progress at underage hurling, there's a small but growing and very dedicated bunch of hurling men over there, which need to be supported

Just on a side note, this "football country" with likes of the express and Laois today gets my goat

There should be no border for either hurling or football country in this county.
This. The thing I find great about ye as a county is that the likes of Castletown and Camross field football teams. Even at underage. It's magnificent. Unlike all clubs say in South Offaly that don't even bother, not even Birr at underage, and they gave walkovers at adult level. Same can be said for hurling in the north/east. Edenderry being the equivalent to Birr, but at least Birr attempted to field a football team. The other crowd didn't. For some of the giving out done on here, ye have a lot going for ye. That's not to say that ye're perfect....

I'd be reluctant to give Ferbane the nod after seeing AZ's post.
Bracknagh should win.
Kevin Corrigan (local journalist) reckoned that Shannonbridge were better than the 3 point winning margin suggested last Saturday in today's Tribune. He reckons that they and Bracknagh will go far. That being said, they've a 7 day turnaround, while Bracknagh and Ferbane have 2 weeks. Not sure of the turnarounds for the respective opponents. I reckon that 2/3 will win, most likely the two teams that don the blue and gold. That being said, it'd be better again if our clubs won 3/3.

Anyone have any thoughts or know anything about any of the opponents of our 3 representatives?

Ballymore are the Kildare Junior Champs. Should go well.

Intermediate is between Leixlip & Monasterevin - neither are particularly strong, Leixlip will edge it but do nothing in Leinster.

Senior in Kildare is the big 4, Athy, Celbridge, Moorefield and Sarsfields. Celbridge for me.

Ballymore Eustace is it? Think Erin Rovers beat them two years ago.

Is a team allowed to change the goalkeepper to an outfield player if a penalty is awarded??  This is only a temporary change for the penalty kick.
Not sure of its legality, but Nigel Dunne did this a month or so ago for Shamrocks v Rhode in an Offaly senior club game.
