Am heading to Bangor this weekend for the Snow Patrol concert in Ward Park on Saturday and was just wondering if anyone can recommend any good pubs or clubs in Bangor?

Also, we couldn't get accomodation in Bangor so we're staying in Newtonards and I'm just wondering if that is far away and if so would a bus or a taxi be our best option? Ohs and any good pub in Newtonards if we opt for a quiet Friday night? Cheers :)

Staying in Newtonards, that should be fun.  :D :D :D  Make sure you wear your county jersey when walking round the town.

Taxi is your best bet. Get it to drop you at the Black Boat* (good guinness, decent live music) on friday night.

*on the seafront opposite the boatyard.

Cafe ceoll, donegans or jenny watts all on high st and all fine for saturday night drinks. Clubs in the same area but not my area of expertise.

In seriousness if I were you I'd be very very careful if your socialising in Ards, not sure if your from the 26 or not, if you are I'd deffo not be ordering drink with a Southern accent, in short it's a dodgy spot with some bad b@stards knocking about it, as someone else said Belfast or even The Olde Inn in Crawfordsburn would have been a safer option.

You'll be fine in the pubs i mentioned in bangor. There'd be more craic drinking on your own in your room than going to the Olde Inn

How in the name of god did you get somewhere to stay in Ards, the strangford Arms??

I'd not be going out in Ards, especially Wetherspoons and a couple of wee spidey bars down that direction.

Bangors only 5 or 6 mile away by Taxi so head out somewhere there instead.
