Don't know if this will make any difference.

Jockey Sam Thomas is a doubt for Cheltenham after being airlifted to hospital after a fall on the gallops at Paul Nicholls' Somerset yard.

The 25-year-old has undergone tests for neck and back injuries at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

Thomas rode Denman to Gold Cup success in 2008 but lost the ride this season after becoming stable jockey at Tom George's yard.

Meath All Star is running 345 Wincanton today. I remember DH mentioning this horse for Cheltenham, you would think he should be up to winning ths although he is up against a Nicholls/Ruby 2nd favourite.

Exeter Preview Evening Notes

Panel were Paul Nicholls, Farry Hindlay, Andrew King, David Pipe, Philip Hobbs and Paddy Power. (Nick Williams also in the crowd and spoke about his horses)

Supreme Novices
PFN – Dunguib hard to beat, Pepe Simo e/w chance on good ground.
HF – Thinks Dunguib is a cert and is basically lumping on.
Pipe – Dunguib hard to beat, thinks GMOOH and his horse Dan Breen could be good e/w chances.

Arkle Chase
PN – Really sweet on Woolcombe Folly if good ground, can't have Somersby, said he beat a horse of his by 1 1.2 lengths that he wouldn't even consider for this. Tataniano needs good ground, could wait for Aintree.
HF – Thinks Long Run could/should go for this and would win.

Champion Hurdle
PN – Really happy with Celestial Halo prep (surprisingly quite bullish), thinks Khyber Kim is a BIG danger.
HF – Wants Dunguib to go for this and would back him. Very negative about Punjabi, can't have it at all and thinks last year's form is crap.

Neptune Investments Hurdle
Paddy P – Said Weld is very sweet on Rite Of Passage.
HF – Very negative about Reve De Sivola, but likes Finians Rainbow
Nick Williams – Said RDS has a great chance of placing, (big e/w chance), but think everything has to go his way to win and needs to jump better.
PN – Ghizao e/w

Champion Chase
PN – Thinks Twist Magic is Master Mindeds biggest danger. He can't have Kalahari King after he was thrashed by TM at Sandown.
HF – Ruby told him on Saturday after he schooled him that only a fall could stop Master Minded – think he's a cert.
Pipe – Thinks Master Minded wins easily. Happy to let Well Chief run

RSA Chase
PN – Probably no runners unless The Nightingale wins easily on Saturday, thinks Long Run is a machine, but jock a slight worry. AP McCoy schooled Punchestowns and told Nicholls after the Sandown race that Punchestowns is a 2m4f horse, Nicholls agrees and worries about Punchestowns staying well.
Hobbs – Thinks its between the two Henderson runners, mainly Long Run.
HF – Tried to buy Long Run, but as part of deal had to stay and run in France for a while, so fell through, but he thinks LR is the real deal and will win the Gold Cup in two years time. Basically think he's a certainty. Jock is a worry though. Thinks Bensalem should have beaten Diamond Harry and would like him for this.
N Williams - Feltham performance best novice chase performance he has ever seen in 30 years of racing. Really negative about Diamond Harry imo, thinks Bensalem should have beaten him and will need to jump better in the RSA to have a chance.

Champion Bumper
Paddy P – Weld said - Smullen rides Hidden Universe and McNamara rides Elegant Concorde and is sweet on both of them. They are both Melbourne Cup horses too! JP McManus allegedly offered connections of Drumbaloo 250 k for the horse and they turned it down, thinks 25/1 is a massive price. Also said that Mullins wasn't very confident about his chances
PN – Negative about Al Ferof, needs softish ground and tbh didn't sound too keen on running him, but owner wants to.

Ryanair Chase
PN – Very sweet on Poquelin on good ground, but must have good ground. Thinks Tranquil Sea is the one on soft ground.
Hobbs – Bit hesitant on Planet of Sounds chances after the fall.
HF – Can't have VPU at all, thinks he's gone at the game.

World Hurdle
PN – Big Buck's big chance (obviously).
HF – Thinks BB is a cert, but Tidal Bay is also a cert to finish second and should be second fav.
Pipe – Thinks Mr Thriller is too big and you can ignore last run, e/w chance, owner has backed him.
Hobbs – Fair Along could be gone

Albert Bartlett
Paddy P – Enterprise Park intended Mullins runner and 10/1 is too big. Also keen on Shinrock Paddy.
Pipe – Chartreux his runner
PN – Najaf intended runner

Triumph Hurdle
Pipe – Quite keen on Notus De La Tour (Also could be his Imperial Cup runner)
HF – Had very negative vibes from Ireland about Alaivan, said he was too light (whatever that means). Thinks Carlito is a certainty to be placed.
PN – Bullish about Advisor, quite similar to Celestial Halo.

Gold Cup
Pipe – Two horse race he reckons. Madison won't run.
HF – Thinks Kauto very hard to beat, but if someone can, Denman can. Denman could run in blinkers. Can't have Cooldine at all and will be laying him in the w/o big two market big time. Tricky Trickster without the big two.
PN – Same as what he's said in the paper, but very bullish that Tricky Trickster would come third. Don't rule out Imperial Commander.

National Hunt Novices Chase
PN – Massasoit runner, R Mahon rides
Pipe – Fairly bullish about The Sliotar

Pertemps
HF – Alfie Sherrin a probable runner, going straight there, fautless and very good form.
PN – Alfie very hard to train but very talented.
Pipe – Buena Vista on the same mark as last year's second.
Hobbs – Triggerman best chance

William Hill Chase
PN – Ruby rides The Tother One
Hobbs – Monkerhostin e/w chance
Pipe – The Package could run, or Our Vic who Danny Cook is sweet on.

Coral Cup
PN – Beshabar only runner
Pipe – Mamlook probable best chance
Hobbs – Pretty sweet on Wishfull Thinking for this, seemed to really rate this horse.

Jewson
Nicholls – Rivaliste, Five Dream and Take The Breeze his intended runners.

Martin Pipe Race
Pipe – Ashkazar and Mutual Friend probably best chances.

£200 Charity Bet
HF – Dunguib/Big Buck's/Master Minded treble
Nicholls – Poquelin
Andrew King – Mille Chief
Pipe – Long Run
Hobbs – Long Run

Apparently Meath all star might need a penalty to be guarenteed to get into Cheltenham next week.  If thats the case then the connections will probably have this race hand picked and be going all out for the win.

That's correct. He won't make the cut for the Conditional Jockey's race unless he wins today and picks up a penalty. The Nicholls horse is a brother to Racing Demon but his bumper form is mediocre.
There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

i did Murrell in last at wincanton

Lush life in last at Sandown

Meath Allstar.

Pays about 5-1.  Not great but they do look like bankers (famous last words) ::)

sammymaguire

I dunno about Meath All Star lads, I'm gonna back the Rainbow Hunter in that one, much better e/w bet as it could take this one. WIZARD OF EDGE (3.10 Wincanton) Wizard of Edge is a six time winner over fences and could be a decent bet also. Far From Blonde will also get a wallop too from me in the opener
DRIVE THAT BALL ON!!
