Watched the racing yesterday here on the us channel, and that fella john mc crickard (not sure of the spelling) but you know that fella with the crazy sideburns, anyway he came on think he was loaded drunk, starts shouting zenyata will not win and the same for conduit, was funny as the american fella took it thick and said maybe rip van winkle will waken up in time for the race

McCririck wasn't drunk, he's always like that!

He might be a mouth almighty, but he made a valid point when he questioned how the American horses would get on if the Breeders Cup was run at Newmarket or Ascot.

Barney Curley famously put him in his place a few years back:

not taking much credit from them lads, all fancied horses with big reputations who were short prices, thankfully most of them delivered and good to see Catch Me walk away from a slippy stumbling fall. I had it and Osana, Big Zeb and Operation Houdini in a 4 timer for £10, gutted when it fell with the race at its mercy, shortest price and last runner always seem to be the one to let you down  ::) It was Aitmatov and PC who was my most pleasing selection, although he made the most of his luck with the fallers in that race and on Oscar Looby.

Some eye catchers today are Larkwing 3.35, Chapel Flowers 3.50 and La Gifted 4.10 might be my e/w treble this afternoon

They went a fairly moderate pace last night, 24 1/5 for the first two furlongs is a crawl up the straight! For Zenyatta to come from she did was a rare sight, you'd have expected the horses in front to have kept going but she picked them easy enough. Obviously, the absense of Quality Road lessened her task considerably and the proximity of turf specialist Gio Ponti and Twice Over leaves doubts over the form.

I'd imagine Rachel Alexandra on dirt and Zenyatta on Pro-Ride were the two ever to meet. Comparing either with Sea The Stars is a pointless exercise! He did it all.

Sure half the fun of the game is comparing horses across continents/generations.

Is Rachel Alexandra going to race on as a 4yo? Zenyatta is off to the breeding shed. She should produce a nice National Hunt prospect given the size of her! Pity we'll never see them take each other on.

Yes the Breeders Cup is at Churchill Downs next year I think so the Classic will be on traditional dirt. Perfect for RA! I can't see them ever running her on Pro-Ride after what happened to Curlin in last year's Classic!

Donnellys Hollow

I don't think it was the pro-ride that beat Curlin, more the fact that the horse had gone over the top.

Its a real pity they can't find a proper surface that suits all horses. Going back to the dirt isn't a positive step IMO. American breeding interests have forced this decision I'd say.

Interesting to see if they are putting in a dirt or a synthetic track at the new Meydan track in Dubai. Wouldn't be a surprise if the Sheikh insisted on a dirt track to try and keep attracting the best American horses to the Dubai World Cup.

Missed your tips sammy.you must be up after that yesterday.Had a good day saturday (was my first proper saturday spent at the bookies in ages)  16/1 winner in bucking boy,Two 14/1 winners in ellersie george and queen of pentacles,10/1 winner in collateral bamage, two 8/1 winners in dubai set and i think the third race in kelso  and a 20/1 double in nudge and nurdle and celestial halo.

Did a 3 e/w bet on a 33/1 shot in steepledowns as well and it hammered the field. ;)

Needed it though as i ended up losing around 120 in the last three weeks.

Backed rip then saturday night and that was the end of that.

have goddess of light and opus dei in e/w double and fiefdom and xpress maite in another e/w double.all racing in wolverhampton.

All are decent A/W horses.
