General discussion / Re: Reaching For Glory

The same team made a much better show in 2004, showing the winning triple crown team in action during the championship.  The highlight of which was beating England in Twickenham courtesy of the Girvanator's brilliant try.

There will be a ticket for everyone that wants one.  Ballybofey is the right decision.  It should be a great atmosphere.  Lawnseed is a slabber

The 2003 AIF was an absolute joke.  Yes Marsden hit Jordan, but for him to roll around on the ground for 3/4 minutes was a disgrace.  Dooher was at it as well, and of course Cavanagh.  Glad that Tyrone redeemed themselves in 2005, but even gladder that we (armagh) won our all-ireland the proper way.

My theory on Tyrone diving is that all those players grew up watching pete the cheat, and to them he is a god.  So if it ok for him to do it, then it is ok for the rest of them.  I honestly think that is why Tyrone are the worst county in Ireland for this carry on.

What is the new capacity of the marshes?  Is there any chance that with this game not being on telly that it could be close to a full house?

Shite, I've just realised that my Van Morrison tickets for Warrenpoint are the same day as the match.  Does anyone know what time the championship match is at.  It will hardly be early enough to get to Warrenpoint for 7.30.  Oul Van will have to start without me. What time is the game?

2003 All-Ireland Semi Final.  Armagh v Donegal.  A fast ball was hurtling down the field, the great one himself (never blessed with speed) was running for it, and so was the Donegal half forward.  It happened right in front of us at the Hogan stand side.  If the bould one had chickened out (yeah right), it could have gone anywhere, but most likely towards the goal.  A split second before he went down for the ball, he hesitated, because he could see that a clattering was iminent, but he then ploughed on.  The bould Francie rattled his head off the donegal lad's knee.  You could hear the knock.  It was really sickening, but he held on to the ball and got a free out.  He got up straight away, and staggered back to the edge of the square.  Joe took him off two minutes later.  He knew he was getting done, but feck it if he pulled out it could have meant a score.  I'll never forget it.  Leg-end.

Armagh / Re: Armagh Club football & hurling

Lads, going back to the discussion about Geraldines, Cross Red Hands and Naomh Brid, a few pages ago.  I was wondering were there any other clubs that have been and gone in the last 30 years or so.  I'm not talking 100years ago, because every townland in the county had a team at one time or other.  I remember Geraldines used to play against Whitecross, Belleek and Shanes in the Carrickcruppen tourament every year.  I remember Phelim Brady's the last time around, but I was surprised to hear of Cross Red Hands.

Does anyone know when the Armagh Dinner Dance is on, or have I missed it?
