CK haven't posted on here in a while but your biased, ill-informed attack on Tyrone really infuriates me. I was at the match and believe me your one sided damnation of an incident you did not even see is mind boggling. The young Campbell lad for Tryone who was the catalyst for the unsavoury behaviour had been harassed by several Armagh players prior to the incident. He had his jersey pulled over his head, was being pulled and hauled down regularly and finally the Armagh number 7 drove into his back as he was going back into position from a kick out. If you have ever played football you will know that in most occasions players will not lie down and take abuse and will generally let their opponent 'know that they are there'. The young Campbell lad then just did what was done to him with a robust shoulder to his assailant in reply. No punches, no kicking no danger.

The reaction of Armagh players, their mentors and subs was not only disproportionate but vicious in the degree of its intent.

Obviously in situations like this there does reach a point of no return and a very serious and nasty fight broke out but I would like to make it very clear to you that all blame lies squarly with Armagh and their thuggish response to what was a fairly innocuous challenge which if happened 15 minutes into the match would have at worst received a stern lecture from the referee never mind a red card.

So CK wise up and stop posting shite on matters you know f**k all about.

Will it be easy enough to get tickets for the game now?  I see they are sold out online.

General discussion / Re: Terror attack in London
March 23, 2017, 12:12:14 PM
QuoteFewer than ten people have died in Britain in "terrorist" attacks in ten years. In the same period over 21,000 have died on the roads. But commentators seem unable or unwilling to accommodate the conclusion that the threat to the individual from politically motivated attacks is 1/2000th of the threat from motor cars. On the contrary, the news media collaborate with the deranged lunatics who carry out these attacks, and with the deranged right-wing nutcases who will feed their xenophobia on this news, by providing them with the achievement of their objective. Non-stop coverage on the BBC throughout the afternoon. Extended news programmes. Hours of coverage again tonight.

In a mediascape with a sense of perspective, wouldn't the ten o'clock news have been, "Five people died today when a man attacked passers-by and police in Westminster. Five people died today in road accidents across Britain. And in sport ..."? Of course I'd still not expect any coverage of the murder of expendable foreign civilians in drone attacks etc.

Well said Hardy.  Was just expressing the same sentiment (not as articulately though) to the wife this morning as the wall to wall coverage continued.

As I type this here we go again on Talkbalk.  "How will London change after yesterday's terrorist attack?"  FFS playing Streets Of London as the opening song.

Pity the Queen Mother wasn't still alive to get her out in the rubble to keep the spirits up.

And just to clarify - what happened was tragic, shocking, and brutal and everyone killed or injured deserves all our thoughts and prayers.

QuoteIn fairness this will be the first time I will actually cast a vote in an election. Either I've not bothered before or spoiled because the quality of politics in NI is appalling really.

This time I will vote for Sinn Fein though as I think the time is right for the DUP to get properly nailed.

My wife (who never votes Sinn Fein) is this time going to vote for Sinn Fein.

You never know.

QuoteThe answer is to play the way they did earlier in the season i.e. lots of quick movement and interchanging and one touch football. Plenty of teams parked the bus in the first half of the season, but Liverpool took care of most of them. Right now, Firmino is off form, Coutinho is finding his touch, and everything is too laboured and slow. The squad needs to be strengthened so that off-form players can be rested and injured players replaced.

Not sure I would agree with you J70. I dont believe teams defended with such numbers and intensity in the early season games. Liverpool still have a good nucleas of a team and still capable of top four but they really do need to find an alternative way of playing or they will lose many more games like this.

QuoteManager and player have a spat mid battle shocker and the dressing room is lost... You're a poster boy for Sky Sports!

Doesn't happen that often Jog2 and certainly not with a team that has cohesion. That aside what I don't get is (and we all agree how predictable things are becoming) why there is no alternative plan B to teams that set up two banks of 4 and just play on the break. I don't know the answer but you would expect top class mangers to have one.

Following the match on 5Live and BBC Live reporting. "Milner blasts one over. Kloop shouts something out to Milner. Milner shouts something back. Liverpool dressing room will be lively after the match."

I have a feeling the proverbial dressing room has been lost which is usually the death knell for any manager.

Okay truthfully. Are we at the point of no return for Kloop. Stallion is correct. This is ridiculous

Could he not just have been shown straight to his seat and feck the one would have known when the anthem was to played?

I was attempting to write exactly something like this but this is why I am not a sports journalist.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/01/25/liverpool-have-won-single-game-2017-has-form-dipped/

If Kloop cannot find a Plan B then his coaching skills maybe limited as Stallion says

Beginning to think that Stallion is right. Liverpool so easy to play against now. Just hard work and keep your shape at the back. Something is badly going wrong. No inventiveness at all. Would love to see a stat on how many  milner corners actually reach the box.
