Time flies, I remember us 8 or 9 points down and then almost stealing it with the last kick of the game. Being told since it was 91

There is still a chance both Senior semi finals and Inter Final this week with Senior final on the 11th . The club will have to come before the County .Circumstances have changed many times since commitment was given to Padráic . To help the county set up we'll try and arrange Mostrim v Slashers final .25th anniversary  Repeat of 1995 with a Mostrim win this time .

Mostrim result no surprise to me. Had doubts about the management team, but they seem to be squeezing the best out of the team. Best performance from us in years. Killoe will probably be that bit stronger the next day, but all our forwards contributed scores today. Interesting week ahead as Hurling final fixed for Wednesday with 11 of the Mostrim panel involved, The Minor final fixed for Saturday with Tiernen Hussey playing and then the Senior semi for the club on Sunday.
Now you face having no Hurling final and no County Hurling team as the 11 Wolfe Tones players have dropped off the panel and a repeat of last years  U-16 fiasco. Surprising (not) seeing who is in the background arranging hurling fixtures. St Brigids Killashee in the Intermediate final on Saturday as well as Grattan Og have a number of players involved with Slashers.

A new low in this case allegedly happened on Tuesday evening at an U 10 blitz in Killoe. A call was made to the referee coordinator about 2 Emmet Óg club people, who are official referee's and giving their time refereeing the kids learning the game. The caller informed the coordinator that they should not be reffing because of the clubs suspension and for the coordinator to put a stop to it. That the news of the suspension was only breaking, this individual was aware of all what was going on. How much lower can these sleevens drag Longford

Championship will now come to a halt once Killoe go to the DRA or High Court to win their cases leaving the other clubs to bail out the County Board costs, while does responsible slither off into the night

More drama behind the scenes as the Referee Co-coordinator stepped down following 2 late night phone call from ???? disagreeing over him notifying a referee of an earlier thrown in time by 30 minutes agreed in advance by both clubs. With a referee quitting after a game on Tuesday evening and referees and match officials having to be replaced at short notice , its time for clubs to wake up and see whats going on

Novenas completed, Abbeylara win the rematch to say up.

Mullinalaghta, Colmcille and Killoe finish level on points at the top of Division 1, with Mullinalaghta edging it on score difference, though not before enother stereotypical County Board fiasco where the county chairman left with the cup before the match was over under the impression that a three-way playoff would be required, before eventually returning to present the cup to a bemused Mullinalaghta captain.

Apparently the County Chairman was given information that there had being walkovers given to teams in the top 3 , therefore necessitating a play off . 1 can only imagine why this was given to him. The cup was given to him to bring to Killoe . Score difference was such that the odds of St Columba's not winning the league was about the same as winning the Euro millions . Might the information given to the Chairman have anything to do with the late decision to allow the game throw in later than the Colmcille game?

Our own centre forward was no slouch either . Team released earlier today in  a break of the traditional keeping of team under wraps. Still a decent outfit when you consider how many gone from last years championship panel. Mood in the camp is good . Happy that the game is in Tullamore and not Portlaoise , a ground that all Longford teams struggle in .

Ok - Leinster championship beginning to bubble up nicely ........LOL
Since they met in the championship last year, Longford have lost Sean Mc Cormack, Barry Gilleran, Diarmuid Masterson , Peter Foy all retired. Darren Gallagher, Rian Brady and Dessie Reynolds travelling and exams. Connor Berry struggled with injury and taking a break. Shane Donohoe on UN duty and Robbie Smyth also absent. Pádraig Mc Cormack is only returning from injury and at present Donie Mc Elliott is suspended. Darragh Doherty having started 5 league games also out at present injured.. So possibly 11 who played in the qualifiers last year out.. Would have Kildare as hot favourites for this one

I was away last weekend so I missed things but it seems Kildare struggled to beat Wicklow.

We are fighting light with missing/suspended players so I cannot see us pulling off a win here.

But............you never know. If we win then it's Nowhere this year for Kildare, as opposed to Newbridge. We cuda/shuda won the Qualifier last year but we simply ran out of petheral.

Summary of our win in Drogheda.

Longford were bad............Louth were worse.

Ah no - that's too glib. We just about deserved the win but for the last 10 mins we were 2 players up but still almost conspired not to win it.

A win is a win and we need these wins to survive in Div3. Louth will need to improve or they're heading for the wastelands of Div4.

Offaly at home next weekend. They'll have marked this down as a must-win. They may be too strong for us as we currently stand......
Seeing that Longford were down the 8 St Columba's players, the exam tied Dessie Reynolds, the injured Pádraig Mc Cormack and Connor Berry and the possible 3 retirees totaling 14 players unavailable it was a great result. Great to see the 3 league debutant as subs all scoring.
