General discussion / Snooker Shoot Out

I've turned it over previously and not bothered with it, but the format is very watchable. Their own version of Cricket's 20/20 with the PDC's pissed up punters. Doubt it will reinvigorate the sport to previous glories tho.

Rictchie Porte restores the natural order on the TDU with a good win on a great stage, Gerrans overhauls Cadel, 1sec in it with a sprint stage left.

The whole game is bent, if you dont start from that premise you shouldn't be a punter imo, any bet i do (especially all-weather betting) i would try & factor in when they are likely to be even trying. From crooked trainers, bent jockies, a betting industry that doesn't even legally have to stand over a bet, regularly get horses pulled from races so they dont have to pay EW.

Well played Barney & hell slap it up the Bookies.

Jesus, Cadel's in some nick, great stage win and looks the TDU winner. Left Richie Porte for dead on the Queen stage major climb - both targeting the Giro too.

It's easy to criticise boys (fun too). Some red haired/headed fella has put his heart & soul into it & deserves a lot of credit.

Have read that stuff, but would gate takings, sponsorship & TV money be enough in their own right? Hardly?

Maith thu Uladh!

How do Ulster pay the big named players like Peinaar, Aofoa & the like? Are they profitable in a business sense or is there a sugar daddy picking up their wages?

Wouldn't be the first time. Could be a blessing in disguise if it does, it they publicise the shit out of it & embarass Stormont into action. New laws  eventually came from the Tony Martin / shooting intruder / standing your ground / protecting your home debacle in England years ago.
