With Dublin set to mobbed by hordes of culchie GAA fans this weekend, cheeky bookmaker Paddy Power has unveiled a series of 'cousin shifting booths' in the capital.

The move sees a number of disused phone boxes wrapped for privacy and placed in hotspots such as Harcourt Street, O'Connell Street and Croke Park.

With Mayo facing Dublin in a replay of their All-Ireland football semi-final tomorrow and Kilkenny facing Galway in the All-Ireland hurling final on Sunday, the GAA will have a busy few days counting the cash coming its way thanks to the nearly 200,000 fans likely to go through the turnstiles this weekend.

Féilim Mac An Iomaire, a spokesperson for Paddy Power, said: "There's nothing like a bit of craic between fans before a big match.

"For the last decade, phone booths have seen as much use as Mayo's trophy cabinet and we're delighted to have not only found a good use for them but to also provide an area for non-Pale dwellers to embrace in private.

"The funny thing is, we're really having a laugh at the outdated stereotype of country folk rather than pointing an accusatory e-finger at the lovely people living outside The Pale."
