That's the tough sh1t of sport. You can be the best team in a below average league and you can be a really top team in a  in a competitive league.

City are going for their 6th league title in 7 years. They'd be going for 7 in a row if Liverpool did not break their run. They are going for an unprecedented 4 in a row this year. People can say money is the factor, but money will only buy you a very strong squad. You still need hunger and organisation. I hear all this talk of the 115 charges against City, if they held any substance then City would be deducted points like Forest and Everton. There is no way the League would treat one club different to the rest. Klopps record of being competitive in the League here and there and being competitive in the Champions League is over blown. Any other club other than City could do what Klopp has done at liverpool the last 5 to 6 years. It's mad that he lasted so long at the club.
It's ongoing and they absolutely do have substance. Their charges are a whole lot more complicated than Evertons and by rights should see them fucked out of the league

Quote from: RedHand88 on April 19, 2024, 07:42:08 PMIt is a shame that he came up against 115 charges FC in his tenure which made winning the league nigh on impossible and who knows, if they do throw the book at city in years to come, what he achieved may be more appreciated.
In season 2021/22 it wasn't that as a win against Tottenham at home instead of a draw with three games to play would have won the league title for Liverpool.

You seem fairly simple minded but that season Liverpool lost two games and had 92 points, it still wasn't enough. That tells you all you need to know
If there was any justice City would be stripped of all their titles. Will admit that Liverpool side did unbelievably well to get near that financially and I've a feeling physically doped team. Bit like that Mayo team running into the Dubs but at least Liverpool got their title!

Does that  mean Man Utd and Liverpool would   need to bring back their players  from those years and  be presented with the PL trophy?

Sure what consolation would that be anyway? Let's  go to Old Trafford to see  the 2012 team  lift the PL trophy? Would Stevie G's slip  and Aguerooooo  be erased from history?

Nah, if you're going to  punish them , a Rangers-style demotion is the way to go  , with a few years in the Vauxhall conference (or lower). That's  the place for them.

I seriously doubt any Liverpool or United fans are looking for those types of meaningless, asterisked titles.  Severe demotion penalty, as you say, is the way to go.

Mayo are similar, All Ireland finals there to be won against Dublin in 2016,17 and found ways to lose them and even when they took out Dublin in 2012,2021 they ended up losing to Donegal,Tyrone.  We can all talk about the advantages of Manchester City and how much of soulless club there are however they weren't winning that 2021/22 league title without that Liverpool slip up with a few games to play against Tottenham who they more often than not beat in Anfield.

Next Liverpool fans will be using the excuse of making it to the Champions League final in 21/22. And the extra pressure of getting there and it affecting their League push.

Arsenal on road to 6th clean sheet in a row in away PL games.

City slip into third ! Arsenal's or Liverpools to lose now

Game in hand means nothing  ;)
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Glad that Everton got the win yesterday, but VAR did indeed screw Forest in at least one penalty, maybe two.

It'll be interesting the Premier League and PGMOL response to their Twitter tirade.

lurganblue

No balls in the VAR box. Afraid to tell their mates that they've made an error.

Nice for Villa to build a little cushion from Spurs. Let's see how they go with their games in hand. Ollie Watkins has had a superb year.

imtommygunn

Clattenburg being in that position at Forest stinks a bit IMO. I would expect Forest to be fined and VAR people not to be allowed to do it again for a while.

Maroon Manc

Forest a joke, don't think any of those decisions are nailed on pens. Not having either of the first 2, probably need to see the 3rd again.

The whinging after the Liverpool was a farce and thats from a United fan.

Armamike

Clattenburg has lost any credibility he had, to be associated with them.
That's just, like your opinion man.

We all know Liverpool supporters like yourself are blinded by the reality of any situation. What I can tell you is it's probably for the best that you stick to other discussions/hobbies of yours such as golf and running.
