Armagh Westmeath match.... On the 1st half- like the donegal game, westmeath were v accurate with their shooting. It was a nervous enough atmosphere in the stand, but as stated above the wind was a big factor. 2nd half was a lot better from armagh. Andrew Murnin when sent to midfield showed real leadership with some great fetching, and chipped in on the scoresheet too. Oisin Connaty looked lively, and the subs made an impact again. So while we didn't set the world alight, was good to get over the hangover of the ulster final. Best wishes to Conor o'neill, just back from a lay-off, hopefully not too serious

Also worth noting Blaine Hughes was great. His kickouts were really accurate- has a lovely way of pinging the ball to his man. Onwards and upwards!

Today showed the old FA Cup still has some charm. Workmanlike performance and deserved win against a City team that was unbeaten in 35 games before today.

Two trophies in two seasons Ten Hag has won for United and before he arrived United hadn't won a trophy since 2017. In his own words "When I took over, it was a mess at United. The team is developing and winning trophies now" This cup win was better than the league cup success last season as both Liverpool and Man City were beaten against the odds.

Lots of pundits and journalists have chosen to ignore the long injury list United have had this season which included patched up back fours with midfielders filling in,  that was the prime reason for such a poor league season and should be taken into account by Jim Ratcliffe and co then they do their end of season review and after it if their decision is to part ways with Ten Hag and replace him with some of the names mentioned in the media it will add another chapter to the decade of incompetence.

The team isn't developing though. Terrible on a consistent basis and still no style of play after 2 seasons. United have gad injuries but he has spent mire than enough to have cover but mist of his signings have been bad.

I couldn't help  thinking of Officer Crabtree reading your  post

If only 7,000 jackeens want to see their only (officially) home Championship game of the year let them at it.
It was their choice of venue.
Meanwhile Ballybofey was packed.

Great performance. Honestly wasn't expecting to win that so relatively easily, especially after playing very well in the first half but Tyrone still staying with us. Thought we then blew a few chances to drive it home with about 15 minutes left and feared Tyrone might make it a tight finish again, but fair fucks to the lads, they killed it off. Best performance of his career for Langan, while the runners like Mogan and Ban were superb. Some swing from the game last summer! Tyrone will have some side in the next few years though once all those youngsters get a bit of senior experience under their belt.

So what's the thinking re attendance at today's potential classic? Tough timing given competing attractions in rugby and soccer and I'm sure there's more than a few people like myself who attended last year's version who have decided to give this a miss.
They're predicting 25k, but I wonder how many will actually pass through the turnstiles - sub 20k?

Official attendance not given apparently, but I heard them estimate less than 10,000 on rte radio.
