Primary schools classes have children of all abilities in them and the teacher has to tailor his/her planning and delivery of lesson to ensure that the needs of all are met. It is hard, hard work.
Grammar schools, by selecting the best academically, avoid this heavy lifting. The teach to the class as a whole all day long with no differentiation. Much much easier

Will be very interesting to see how they work there entry criteria .
What happens school transport ?
If a pupil lives further than 5 miles from the school but within 2 miles of a local secondary will they still be entitled to a free bus pass now the school is no longer classified as a grammar by its own entry criteria ?

I have a Honda CR-V 2014 which has the idle stop start using the clutch. ( hope someone knows what I am on about ). Anyway,  it stopped working and the problem was traced back to the battery which needed replaced. The mechanic said something along the lines of ...the stop start clutch thing has to learn the voltage before it begins to work with the new battery. In the meantime it is not working at junctions they way it did previously.
Anyone understand what I am on about and if so does it take a while before the new battery is able to operate the stop start clutch

It may need to be reset/calibrated using a computer with Honda diagnostic software. It is also vital that the mechanic fitted a battery with identical ratings as the previous.

The guy who fixed it specialises in motor electrics and he is aware of the stop start system. He didn't say that it needed to be reset so I'm hoping that it will sort itself out. He did say something about it having to learn the voltage or something.

You can be sure that the grammars will push it back until the new year. Primary schools wil have to reschedule their plans to accommodate this as they will be expected to by parents to help their children prepare for the test. Xmas concerts will not go ahead , planned primary school sporting events will have to be postponed/ rescheduled. All this on top of the endless stress that the pupils and parents will have to endure due to the fact that a group of people (Boards of Governors) sat in a room one evening and decided that they didn't want pupils of lesser academic ability into their school.
Absolute disgraceful attitude and power that they should not have!! All this supported by the DUP minister

Show of hands: How many of you have had to explain that the dirty side of the dishes have to face inward so the jets can clean them? I've lost count of the number of times I've had to put dishes back in the right way around because they didn't get cleaned the first time.
