A few things that could be done to help prevent this are,
Limiting the number of people inside the wire.
Only those inside the wire are the starting players, limited number of subs eg. 5  one medic and 2 of the management team (they are not allowed inside unless they have they required vetting, safeguarding and coaching certs). All names on the team sheet. Only club officials who have underwent official GAA training for umpiring or linesman can do that role.
Meaning clubs would need to ensure everyone has the required training if the person is to be inside the wire.
Would stop the local lunatic being involved as they see themselves above training courses. Would also mean the club would need to put a lot people forward for the training to ensure someone can be inside the wire.
Strong sanctions on anyone entering the playing area if not one of the listed names on the team sheets.

By the looks of the video he was one of the teams management and should have been on the teamsheet.

The club gets put out of that competition unless they put the culprit up for sanctions due to his actions. I'd say every dog in the area know exactly who he is.

Looks like he is a mentor. What I am saying is you can only become a mentor once you are vetted and done the relevant coaching and safeguarding courses. The person here may be vetted and have the relevant courses, but something like this should strip you of all that and prevent him ever being a mentor again.

Do you know who has vetting and coaching qualifications in your club? It should be the minimum requirement to deter the local head cases having a negative impact on everyone they encounter. As far as I can see there is little to no barriers to prevent the wrong people being involved.

David Clifford kicked 1-9 for Fossa in their 1-14 to 0-10 win over Listowel Emmets today, just a week after his All-Ireland win
How are Fossa a junior team if they have the 2 Clifford's. How bad must the other 13 players be

Sure did Moy not have like 4/5 on the County Panel at a stage languishing in Intermediate??

Jordan 2 Cavanaghs Holmes and Mellon?

Clan na nGael were in junior with Brian Dooher and Stephen ONeill.
Are you sure about that? More like they were in div 1 and now back in div 3 since the two players retired.

Four changes I would like trialed.
1. Remove the forward mark.
2. Remove the back pass rule to goalkeeper on kickouts
3. Increase the size of the semi circle from 13m to 20m. All kickouts must go outside it and all players must be outside it for the kickout.
4. After a goal is scored the game is restarted by a throw in like the start of game/second half, 6 in each half and 2 in mid field per team. Any team delaying the restart will result in a free for the other team in mid field.

All free kicks and sideline kicks must go forward.
This would reward the teams that fouls. All men behind ball as they have to kick it towards you and the team taking the free would have one man less to win the kick as someone needs to take the free.  :-\

The ball did not hit the ref, the man did. Play on was correct

One of the best things about championship is the straight knockout. Proposal B means only 10 teams get to enjoy this. This is not enough. Some teams will get a go in the tier two comp, but the remaining teams will not. All teams should have a knockout chance either for Sam Maguire or the tier two comp. League format will benefit the Counties with a big panel with strength in depth. Mid tier counties who could cause an upset won't get the chance in a one off. Sorry it is a pure effort of an improvement

In 2002 when Sligo beat Tyrone, few would have thought Tyrone would win the next year.
It was the same this year. All the top ten teams would feel that if they played Tyrone they could give them a good game and if they were beat it would less than 3 or 4 points. I would say all them would think they could improve by that much by next year. Score a goal more a game or tighten up in defence.
The likes of Dublin and Kerry could improve by more than that. I hope Tyrone improve again and keep all at arms length for another while yet.

Not a fan of the 'hit' in football or hurling on someone whose body is in any way 'open'.  But it's nearly expected at this stage . The difference of a couple of inches makes it look bad but I'm sure there was no intent to strike the head.
I 100% agree.

The Dublin club one referenced above I thought was a horrible watch.  And I'm sure everyone has seen similar where a player receives the aptly named hospital pass, and is wide open to a 'fair shoulder' to wipe him out. And if the opposing player doesn't take that opportunity, he'll be berated by his teammates and supporters. It's part of the game and big physical hits can be a great watch, but there should be something in the rules about care for the opponent, in particular in relation to contact with the head. No doubt it's a bit odd that rugby rules provide for this, but GAA rules don't, given how much more physical their game is with their continuous monster hits.

Re the Small one, if you slow the action down frame by frame, you'll see that the first contact shoulder to shoulder. Eoghan's body is slightly turning as he's hit, and it immediately starts to crumple. John's knees are bent slightly, the way people are taught to give the 'fair shoulder', so then his shoulder rises to contact perfectly with Eoghan's head. Horrendous outcome and I wish him all the very best for his recovery.

Even James Horan said afterwards that he wasn't sure it was a foul, but was very upset that the play wasn't stopped immediately as the player was clearly in a bad way.
It has to be side by side not shoulder to shoulder. Small hit with shoulder but contact was never going to be side by side.
Only a split second for Small to decide if a shoulder tackle was on and when you commit it needs to be safe. I feel it was never on due the angle he was running at.

The angle Small was coming at meant he never could hit him fair, it was always going to be a frontal charge at best. A side by side was not possible. The first booking in game was a yellow for this as no contact was made with the head. In the small tackle it should have been red. The angle Lane had may have been poor to see the contact to head, but he should have known it wasn't a side to side shoulder.

For those in the north, if you ring the Freeview helpline about retune they will send someone out free of charge. They put up a new aerial for me last year for free as I lost my soarview channels, still only have some of them as the signal is poor.

The problem is, as usual, there doesn't seem to be agreement in the Remain parties -

Can't see too many unionists voting for Eastwood since he will take his seat in Westminster and might have some influence as a remainer however minor that is. Think it will be tight between SF and SDLP in Derry & Strabane. Finucane has to find 2,000 votes on Dodds and you would have to think that this will only be possible if SDLP step aside. An agreement for SF to step aside in South Belfast to allow Hanna get in and for SDLP to do likewise in north Belfast to give Finucane a chance would make sense.
Strabane is in West Tyrone and not Foyle

Gough was excellent.

Dublin didn't quite get going today as a) they were rightly pulled up for fouling and b) Fenton (must have been injured) was a passenger. Gavin had an unusually poor game too.

He wasn't at all. Kerry should have finished with 14 players.

Maybe. Cooper got a warning, then a yellow then a red. O'Sullivan got his warning after the yellow. No matter what Gough did there someone would have called him inconsistent.

We'd a great game of football, and the refereeing played a major part in that. Men could hit each other and tackle each other, but dragging and pulling was a no-no.

Maybe referees should start punishing the better teams more so we get competitive matches.

So you don't / can't / won't accept that Cooper was sent off for a third offence ?

O'Sullivan had also given away earlier frees in the game though

Yes but he clearly spoke to Cooper about deliberate fouling.

There are certain fouls/actions that are a yellow no matter what has went before. The tackle with the close fist into the ribs in the first half for example that he issued a noting for. The Crowley tackle with the foot that he did give a yellow for and the last foul by Sullivan that he didn't. It's the inconsistency that is frustrating.
Fist tackle to the body when attempting to get the ball is a noting. It is not a yellow as per the rules

The border constituencies voted remain, apart from Foyle these are all rural areas where many voters come from a farming background. Most farmers I know voted remain. Just because your family voted leave doesn't mean they are representative of all farmers.

His mother is English AFAIK, maybe he sees himself as part English and singing the anthem is not an issue for him.
