Jon Tickle, of Big Brother fame, has a sister called Tess (apparently)

Dick Soft, was head if Fingal County Council?

Dick Long, worked for an IT company in England. Imagine the scene, you're running a workshoop with 15 people, and you open with a round the table introduce yourself "hello my name is Dick Long"... snigger... snigger... "quiet please!"

I went to college with a guy called Harper. His mother was called Pearl.

painting phone numbers. See ya!

QuoteAustralian teenage girls have been warned over the dangers of painting their phone numbers onto their skin while they sunbathe on public beaches.

Groups of young girls have been photographed in bikinis with their mobile numbers written on their backs using blue-coloured zinc sunblock.

The 14 and 15-year-olds said they had travelled from Sydney's inner suburbs to Cronulla Beach in the city's south and Manly Beach in the north to "meet boys" and hoped the unusual tactic would encourage a few phone calls.

However, child protection agencies said the stunt was likely to attract the wrong type of attention.

One 15-year-old, identified only as Lizzy, admitted older men had been quickest to respond: "An old guy tried to talk to me. He was trying to take pictures of us," she told local newspaper The Manly Daily.

Child protection experts cautioned other teenagers against copying the stunt.

Girlforce author Nikki Goldstein said the practice was obviously dangerous.

"We'd never advise girls to broadcast their phone number anywhere that could make them a target," she told the Australian Daily Telegraph.

"They're in their bikinis, objectifying themselves is a bit trashy."

Psychologist Kirrilee Smout said the girls were too young to understand how to deal with the way some men would respond to the advertisements.

My handiwork.....

Exactly armaghniac.  I had this discussion in work the other day.  A lad was complaining because his bin charges for the year had gone up to 390 euros.  I explained to him that when I lived in Belfast my rates for the year were £1750.  He couldn't believe it.  Also when we first moved down I got car insurance quotes for north and south.  The quote in the north was around £700 whereas the insurance down here was 380 euros!!!  You can compare all you like, but take it from me we have a better standard of living in Cork than we ad in Belfast.  An example of how there isn't a whole pile of difference, we would go out to a local place for food.  Your average steak meal with dessert and bottle of wine for me and Mrs BC would cost around 85 euros.  Nothing too fancy mind you, just nice and tasty.  We went to a similar style place in Cushendall the last time we were up.  We got the exact same type of meal and had no change out of £60.  Do the maths and you will see that there is little difference.

It will happen in the next 5 years, but a closer link to Europe will be how it happens.  That will only happen though if the Tories do not win the election. That may just be the case.

Tut tut brokencrossbar  >:( You know how those owc people dont like facts that challenge their thinking.

Leenie,

Women have to ask for directions. We men the hunters have an instinctive homing device. Thats why we never read maps, or read manuals, or read girls minds.

The RUC 'investigation' into this was a complete and utter whitewash ... if the brits who did the shooting and covered it up are going to be reinvestigated then the george cross heroes - with their new wee windy in st anne's - who carried out the criminal probe should also be made amenable

LOL. They love commemorations, don't they?

Okay so, walking the 12 pins in one day, I'll add that to my list of 50 things not to do before I die.

Ach to hell with U105 and the Dail.

Whats more important now is the name and location of the the Pins or Bens. Maybe they live in Galway but they're on holiday in Mayo?

On U105 radio station this morning, there was a quiz question along the lines "where would you find the 12 Bens?"

The answer was Mayo.

What tickled me was that the question was tabled under the category European Matters.

Hmmm. When I'm in Newtownhamilton and I decide to nip down to the shops for some groceries in Dundalk, I dont say to myself "I'm off to Europe". Or when I'm in Newry and decide to head to Greenore for a game of golf I dont think to myself "I'm off to Europe for a round of golf.

I dont expect anything else from U105 - the sport questions are nearly always soccer. You wont get a question such as who did Crossmaglen beat is last years ulster club championship.

/End of rant
