Indeed Milltown. John Wayne's Oscar winning performance. Must watch it again sometime. Bridges is nominated for an Oscar in the remake though...

They like to call them "reimaginings" in Hollywood. But have to agree with you.

Shaun of the dead is what it is..tongue in cheek spoof film! didn't see zombieland but i can imagine they tried to better it.

As for the Paul film watching the trailers it looks like a cheap rip off of Roger from American dad but we'll see.

If the movie was a silent movie I'd maybe agree - but his grizzled murmerings are so hard to make out in places - especially in some of the key scenes and dialogue - that its hard to see him picking that oscar up.

Just watched El dorado last weekend - hard to beat a bit of the duke of a Saturday afternoon.

This True Grit is based on the book as opposed to a remake of the original film. You are welcome.

I'll give it another watch to make sure but wasn't all that great to be honest. Also, subtitles were needed for Jeff Bridges....

QuoteAnd it's very debatable that any film with Matt Damon in it could be called good

Serious, you don't like any of

Good Will Hunting
Rounders
Saving Private Ryan
Green Zone
Invictus
The Bourne Trilogy
Oceans XI

Stick in The Legend of Bagger Vance and All The Pretty Horses too.

Watched 'The Fighter' last night . . . thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a bit like the Wrestler only good.

Bale is superb in it. Having seen the roles he has played previously where he is usually the strong, arrogant buff guy he played the vulnerability role very well. Also the transformation of his physique was interesting as well as he managed to turn himself into an awkward gangly character.

Wahlberg was ok but the sisters stole the show with some great lines in it. All in all very enjoyable if slightly too long.

I'd agree with that. Bale is one of the best about at the minute. Did you ever see him in the Machinist? - Scary!
