I watched Fargo there recently while waiting for a new episode of the series. Excellent film.

Watched Maggie Moore(s) on the plane back from Ireland yesterday.  Not bad.  Small town in which two women called Maggie Moore are found murdered.  Reminded me of Fargo and Pulp Fiction (though not as good as those).  The interactions between the two main cops are very funny.

Watched the first half of Killers of the flower moon. Underwhelmed to say the least. Does it get better in the 2nd half or more of the same? Hate not finishing a movie, but not sure I want to revisit.

Pretty consistent pace throughout. Average enough film that I was expecting more from given the hype and actors/director involved.

Cillian Murphy won best actor at the golden globes overnight for his role in Oppenheimer.

Finally saw Oppenheimer over the weekend. Brilliant film. Three hours just flew by.

Well deserved IMO.  His performance was the best I watched last year.

Attempted to watch Napoleon last night, extremely disappointing imo. Gave up on it. So much history / character to work with and they butchered it.

It defo needs an expensive mini series to get everything in, catering for the 'romance' didn't cut it, that'd mean but there was so much skipped or passed by

Yip, crying out for a series. It was funded by Apple as well, so 🤷

ThomasMullan

Nyad on Netflix not too bad.

The Holdovers (Paul Giamatti) was decent enough.

Nothing particular original about it (Dead Poet's Society/Scent of a Woman kind of thing), but these days when decent movies are not that common, you could do a lot worse.

Jaysus but Saltburn is a bit much. I didn't watch it but heard a few spoilers about it and read the plot on wikipedia. I don't plan to watch it in future either.

Cillian Murphy is a brilliant actor but his Oppenheimer performance was nothing special.

Watched Napolean at the weekend, pretty crap.

At least you gave it a fair shot Pat 🙂
