Well, sadly the intense fixture list caught up with us! You can only spin so many plates at a time. Well done Wolves! If we had got a lower division side we'd have had a chance with the starting line-up! Never like to lose, even when you know this competition could be a hindrance this year!

Summed up his general performance. I had hoped we were getting a kante type player with a bit more forward ability but as of now I'd have Lucas back instead.

Jürgen Klopp confirmed Dejan Lovren sustained a hamstring injury during Liverpool's 2-1 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup on Monday night.

The centre-back was forced from the field after just six minutes of the third-round encounter at Molineux, with the Reds needing to call upon 16-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever to replace him.

Klopp told his post-match press conference: "[It is his] hamstring, is what I heard - without any signs before. I asked everybody, no signs, nothing, just out of the blue, so that's the decision you have to make.

"I am not sure what you all would have said if immediately from the beginning if our centre-half situation was Fabinho and Ki-Jana; then probably a few very smart people would tell me that I don't respect the competition or whatever.

"So, we tried to do all the things [we could]. Of course, on the other hand it doesn't make sense to bring in a 16-year-old boy from the start. You don't bring him, you wait until he is completely ready, but he did well. He came on and did well. That's how it sometimes starts - when you are really needed then it is only about if you are good enough and not how old you are.

"He did well, so that was all OK. That's it."

Asked about the potential length of time Lovren is facing on the sidelines, Klopp replied: "I don't know in this moment."

Honestly, would prefer to be still in the FA Cup, but Klopp was 100% correct to rest Alisson, Virgil, Robbo and the 3 lads. And without those 6, the Wolves team was better than the Liverpool team, especially as that Liverpool team hadn't played together. Pity that Hendo and Lallana felt ill prior to the game and thus couldnt play. Might have made a difference and we could really have done with an easy draw against a lower league team. Them's the breaks.

But it's all about Brighton!

Given the team that played 2-1 was a decent result.  Hoever looks very promising,  has all the moves of VVD and if he can train with him regular and model himself on him there is a real diamond waiting there.  Was disappointed in some of the more senior players but the reality is that the likes of Shaq and Sturridge are the type of players that need better players to benefit them.  Sturridge simply doesn't have the legs any more,  Shaq needs movement in front of him and was sometimes playing too deep.  Milner was very poor but he is not a central MF unless he has a Henderson beside him.  Keita still seems to be finding it very hard to adjust though I think he will make the breakthrough, Mignolet showed why he should never have the ball played to his feet as several of his passes out put players under pressure unnecessarily.  Moreno was Moreno and he's simply playing out his contract.  Origi put a shift in after he scored the goal but he will be gone soon enough too.  There will likely be 4 of that starting team gone by the summer and possibly even Milner if he wants to finish his career at Leeds if they come up,  there were 3 players who were born in the 2000's who will be bit part players for the next few seasons at best, so really the only ones who started who will be defintiely 1st teamers are Lovern, Shaq and Fabinho.

Brighton is all that counts and restarting the push for the League.
