I just saw the results for the Down v. Kerry match. What the hell.

Very surprising. Thats two losses now by Kerry and they're rooted to the bottom of the table.

Laois 2-18 V 0-17 Down.
Thought alot of Laois' play was lethargic and only when Down drew level with around 12 minutes left did we step up a gear and push on. Ryan Mullaney and Martin Phelan both especially off the boil today. Cody Comerford was quite lively when he came on. The wind was a big factor today and thankfully it drifted a fair few of Down's efforts wide. Wouldn't be overly enthused with what I saw in OMP today. Referee was handing out reds far too easily as there wasn't much niggling in the game really. Kildare away won't be a cakewalk looking back on today's performance.

The Harps and Abbeyleix served up some minor final today, eleven goals really gave great entertainment. Can see these two squads dominating for a few years yet.
It wasn't to be Abbeyleix's day and kinda bit deflating for them to lose both games by margins of 12pts and 16pts.
Thought Camross were very commanding in the senior final and the hooking, harrying and passing from them was clinical. I thought that they fine weather would have suited Abbeyleix more but the first touch, wasted wides and wayward passing killed their ambitions.
Whilst disappointed today one would hope that the Abbeyleix squad will want to go harder next year and get back into the final to redeem themselves. Abbeyleix have a window of a few years to grab a title as the top teams are regressing and the younger teams are progressing.

Big upset with newly promoted Abbeyleix beating Rathdowney Erril 3-20 to 3-18

A good game tonight and some lovely hurling from both sides. Both goalkeepers looked nervous at times with a few unforced errors that cost The Harps a goal and almost cost BK one also. PJ Scully was a class act for BK and has some skill, thought O'Connor for the Harps was exciting to watch - a good prospect for the future if he keeps that level of play up.
While the Harps scored 0-28, I thought in general their forwards were lacking bite overall. Didn't take their chances which should have raised at least two green flags. Borris Kilcotton were no great shakes at the back and with a bit more of a physical presence up front Harps could have bagged a few goals. No.24 a big difference when he came on in bringing that needed physicality which saw them power back and win it out.
Borris Kilcotton will certainly be bitter over how their year collapsed around them, I hope for the sakes of the club it doesn't fester and totally fall apart in the boardroom too. Laois needs all the strongholds playing at the top level and there is certainly the case for making a ten club SHC in the coming couple of years.

The guy seems to be vey highly qualified. If he gets a few years in the post, you'd be hopeful he could get things moving in the right direction.

Absolutely. A great appointment and it couldn't come at a better time. Keegan is well experienced and will have a strong network of contacts too. Hopefully he will bring others in on the scene too and create something good. But the County Board will need to back him with proper funding. Knowing Keegans nature he'll make a strong investment case in games development that the county board won't be able to back away from. Delighted for him, hope it goes well for him.

Good result in Tralee but as expected Offaly threw the Cullen Park game. Hope Carlow win it out over that.

Tipp played only u16's against us,after 20 odd minutes, the scoreboard was putting up Tipp goals as points and at half time they turned off the scoreboard completely in Cashel, the scoreline was way worse than what was officially given

I heard that last week and genuinely couldn't believe it . Demoralising to hear .

So the 12-29 or whatever it was, was actually a lot more?? Holy Christ.

This is a horrendous state of affairs. To be honest though not surprising. Was in at the Setanta first night back the other night and my God, there are alot of chaps 10 to 11 years old that can barely strike a ball.
Now, some of these could be down to picking up the game only recently - but if it's not then it's very worrying to see how far back chaps are when compared to those in other counties at similar ages. Alot of work to do there.

Two sending offs in the closing stages, and Dublin down to 14 men too. Was the ref overly fussy?

Going on today's result we won't be worrying about a final. I really doubt we will even pick up a win in Tralee.

Big win today and we could need that cushion of scoring difference yet.
Tough game V Carlow next week.
