Bit off topic but I think this is a good place to ask this question.
I'm trying to convert a couple of old club match dvds to mp4 format using VLC media player. But when I try to view to converted mp4 file it won't play in any of the media, players I have. Can anyone tell me how to best rip the dvd to mp4?

Folks, I'm due to fly with Ryanair next Friday night from Dublin. Apparently there's a 48 hour strike by Ryanair pilots from Thursday - Saturday. Any advice on what to do?  Should I go ahead and book a new single outbound flight now or wait?

If it's a strike am I eligible for a refund for my new or original booking?
There was a rep from RyanAir on TodayFM yesterday, impact on flights out of Ireland will be minimal he said. They're working to reshuffle some of their other flights to ensure holidaymakers (to/from sun destinations) were not impacted. Using their app is the best way to stay informed apparently.

General, I've read through the last 10 pages and you seem to be in the know. What's the deal with setting up IPTV I've downloaded the Smart IPTV app onto my Samsung TV, is there a better IPTV app I should use? Any info you can share to enlighten me would be appreciated.

So the smartiptv app in still in the Samsung tv store? I read above that it wasn't in it anymore.
Searched for it yesterday and it was there

I'm after some advice for 2 different problems  :'( :'(
Vauxhall Zafira 1.9 2008 - there last week when I went to start the car it made a kind of whirring noise - like something was spinning under the bonnet but wouldn't start first time. Turned of and tried a second time and car started no problem. This happened a few days in a row but then this week it's been starting no bother - any ideas? I've it booked into the garage for monday thinking it maybe the starter motor playing up. Recently fitted a new battery.

Ford S-Max 2.0 Automatic 2015 - within the last 2 weeks this car has been firing up a Transmission Function Limited or Transmission Malfunction message. With the limited message car goes into limp mode but won't go into reverse. On the Malfunction message no power goes to the wheels at all. Turning the car off and on clears the message for a short while. This car was ex mobility has 45k miles on it atm. We had it at a Ford dealer last week who told us the gearbox is meant to be serviced @ 37.5k miles or every 3 years whichever comes first. I got them to service the gearbox in the hope that would help, did Donegal over Easter weekend no bother but the Transmission messages came back on the other day. Has anyone ever had bother like this before? New gearbox is £2.5-3k when the cars driving everything seems fine there's no chugging between gear changes so I'm hopeful it's more electrical than mechanical.

I connected an OBDII to the car and this fault code appeared:
U0415 - invalid data received from the ABS control module.

I'm a little more hopeful that the issue isn't with the gearbox but with the ABS sensor/unit am I being too optimistic? Booked in with Ford on the 14th
Lindsay's in Craigavon? Personally I'd find a reputable local garage with all the diagnostic gear, as Lindsay's will put the arm in past the elbow and potentially still not fix it. I got landed with a bill from them in the past for £1200 for something that still wasn't fixed.

Not the recommendation I was hoping for. For them to begin the diagnostics and plug the computer on it's £90. So I can easily see how you ended up with a bill of £1200, but for the problem not to be resolved that's woeful. Hopefully I've a better experience. I'll let you know. We do tend to use PittStop in Armagh but when the initial Transmission malfunction message appeared they recommended bringing it to a Ford garage after hooking it up to their computer.

Update on this mess! Found a local mechanic that pulled the gearbox out had a look at it and apparently Ford are using plastic components inside the gearbox. Anyway it shipped over to Al Transmissions in London who stripped, cleaned and rebuilt it, put it in an SMax over there for a few days before sending it back. After a week in Killarney with a fair bit of cruising around with no gearbox problems can comfortably say the car is back in great condition. Al Transmission are rebuilding ford gearboxes all week how can a car company ignore there shitty build quality? Anyway saved myself £1000 going down this route.

Can anyone recommend anywhere in Kerry that would have plenty of self catering apartments to rent?

Castleross Hotel in Killarney does chalets. Also I believe there's self catering apartments in Glenbeigh and Cahirciveen as well. We rented a holiday home down in Cahirciveen a few times, lovely, but not overly cheap.

Thanks for the info. I'll check them out.

Try Park Place apartments, great location to the town centre and close to the National Park.

I'll be down in Killarney for this game, tried to get tickets online there but there's none available atm - is it too early? I'll keep trying, but which shops in Killarney sell tickets?

Armagh GAA has made to the move to switch all age groups to follow school year right up to minor/U18.5.

How does that work with intercounty club competitions like the Feile, Paul McGirr and so forth?
I know for Feile the January birthday rule was used, so I'd assume that'd be the same for the other inter county competitions.

Would you boys not think Pogba is worth building the team around? Might take a season or two, but with his control in tight spaces, passing ability and goal scoring, there is definitely a talented top player in there. Fair enough, his attitude needs work and he has to be managed, but so did Cantona when Fergie brought him in.

He's not or never will be the type of player you build a team around. He's not leader like Cantona was who got others around him playing better. Pogba needs players around him performing well to get the best out of him and he's probably the last player you want on a team when they are playing poorly.

I'm not sure about that as there is evidence that he has been a vital component of successful teams in the past. If you stick with him he does need to be accomodated moreso than most, there's no doubt about that.

He played along side top quality players some of which were pure leaders. That allows Pogba to then excel in successful teams. If United are to keep him the new players brought in will have to leaders and ones you build the team around.

When I say "build the team around", that means bringing in lads who do all the donkey work and ball winning and giving him just the responsibility to be an attacking creative force i.e. you construct the team specifically to allow him to excel in his preferred role and not to have to worry about the other stuff.
Is Kanté an option of someone who'd do the donkey work?

Can I ask when should clubs start emphasising competitiveness? U14 onwards?
The kids will be competitive anyway, some more than others but yes, our club would not be selecting a strongest team until Feile kicks in at U14 level.  Up to that point, it's all about giving everyone equal game time regardless of ability.  As some other lads have alluded to here, it can be a tough pill to swallow at times when the local rivals are handing out the odd hiding with their strongest team at U10!!  The former approach will serve you best in the long run Farr.  Best of luck with whatever age group you are looking after.
This is a hot topic of discussion among our club coaches at the minute, we're badly stuck for numbers between U14 and U16 and we're taking 2 approaches to resolve it:
1. Ask the players currently playing what we need to do to keep them playing
2. trying to implement a policy of equal playing time U12-U18 i.e. every player getting at least a half, a strategy that will be implemented by England Rugby for their 6-18 year old players. Our younger groups try to setup up games so there are no subs or we use rolling subs to ensure everyone gets loads of playing time.

Games are competitive regardless of age group, kids do not like to lose and therefore will try their best to win. Why do people feel giving players the opportunity of equal game time post U12 shouldn't be a given? Is it not better to have players playing with the club for as long as possible even if they do not go on to play senior?

GJL - what's the ball park figure for changing a timing belt on a 2008 Zafira? I've tried Portadown Vauxhall and they've said £249 for the belt and labour only, and if the water pump needs replaced it's going to be an extra £120 and Donnelly Vauxhall in Dungannon are the same price.
