General discussion / Jonesboro - Cemetery
August 28, 2018, 11:23:10 PM
Hi all, long time no post! I was chatting to an old pal last night and was reminded of this board and the wealth of information it harbours!

Anyone familiar with the Jonesboro area that can tell me if there is a RC graveyard near the village itself that's easy to find?  Will be up around there in the next few days and might take the opportunity to do a bit of digging (not literally!) for family tree research.

Thanks!

BTW the behaviour of Fr Flannery is no better than the Church as a whole and is merely vanity on his behalf and as a form of protest by those attending his services.

I think his claim of simply wanting to celebrate his 70th birthday in way that reflects who he is and what his life has been about to date, is a genuine claim.

Agreed on the rest of it :)

I was there.  Wasn't misguided at all, the ol' sat nav brought me straight to the door.

Logging on for the first time in an age the night before Cheltenham and not finding the horse racing thread at the top of the pile!

I keep seeing comments about not helping refugees because our homeless situation is so bad.  Why does it have to be an either/or? Homeless people need help, simple as that, ALL of them.

It has its uses - as already said, it's particularly useful for keeping in touch with old friends or family abroad or whatever.

I have a few things that bug me, most of them covered already - the drama queens/kings and the non-friends sending friend request would be two of the big ones.  Another one that bugs me is couples posting little luvvey duvvey notes to each other - especially when they're obviously in the same place at the time!

How long more do I have to stay quiet to get a mention?

f**king Dell (insert any large corporation in here). The f**king operating of large companies grinds my gears. ......[/s] Dell inc.!!!

I had a problem trying to get a Dell computer delivered, went around in circles for a week or two and was getting nowhere.  I emailed michael.dell@dell.com and had a phone call from the States within a couple of hours, assuring me it would be sorted, followed by a phone call from some Vice President of some department or other, followed by an apologetic call from one of the guys I'd dealt with (felt bad about that) followed by delivery 3 days later.

Very sad.  You only had to look at his fb page to see how much he adored his family.  RIP
