9 or 10 points against galway was never going to be enough, 1.06 against derry was closer but they had a great finish to the game.On reflection I am happy we are gone, with that kind of offense kerry would have mauled us and really sent us away never to return with embarassment if we met them in a final.
2 goals for galway
3 goals for cavan
2 goals for derry

I think the blame really falls on the fullback line, good lads and all that but not up to it.

What was the name of the lad that played full back for mayo in the u21 final against Armagh? Thought he looked like a real prospect, good hands and reading of the game.

After a little lookin the match programme press in my room.

What about Ger Cafferkey from Ballina? Would he do the job? Afterall some people were touting him as the next full back after the u21 final last year. A game he didn't play particularly well in himself, but is he not worth a try?

There are over 45 clubs playing in Mayo (As far as I know!)
Theoretically there should be at least 45 players battling for their natural position as a full back on the Mayo team

Its crazy that we resorted to L O Malley to do the job when his own club dont even put him FB.

Is there any players out there deemed fit to get a shot at the panel next year?
I thought Naven from Claremorris was the answer when JOM took over.

Personally I would love to see John Feeney (from my own club) get a real chance.

Any other club players in the woodwork that have not been mentioned yet ??

mannix

Well said abbeysider, a lot of clubS THERE ALRIGHT AND SOME ONE CLUB BOUND TO HAVE THE MAN NEEDED.
