After years of doing bets like this and donating my money to John Boyles (already full) retirement fund I opened a betfair account and started to trade football/golf myself for small money. Much more fun and a lot more profitable in the long run. Anyone else tried it?

Dabled in it, you need liquidity though, carefully researched plans are good.

I like the lay a 10/1 scoreline in every champions league game for 10pts, then 7/8 you break even, 8/8 yours up £70 odd quid.
Any less you loose heavy but well researched bets can pay off.

i use betfair quite a lot myself. Tonight Im going to lay over 2.5 goals in the United match. Hopefully it will be tight for the first 30 mins and I can trade out at a profit. Doesnt always work tho

alot of guess work on a regular basis with the accys but they are a fun (mug) bet which gives some interest. A decent bet too is (a) players to score during a game so hopefully you get a full 90 minutes where as if your chosen team are 2-0 down after 20 minutes you can almost kiss goodbye to your cash

Lads need a bit of advice here. What was the story with the Plymouth game on Saturday? I was waiting on both teams to score but the match was called off with the score being 4 1 in the 58 minute. Will the result still stand?

I would doubt it Mickey, if you had five games with both to score it will just go to four.

I would doubt it Mickey, if you had five games with both to score it will just go to four.

I'd be inclined to think you might get paid, but different bookies may have different terms and conditions.

Mickey, if you did the both teams to score bet with Ladbrokes then they will pay out on it. Their rule is that Postponed or abandoned matches will be void unless both teams have already scored.  Dunno about other bookies though.
