By way of comparison, the odds for Dublin to win this game are the same on Betfair as the odds for Biden to win Pennsylvania. Trump that if you can.
At 20/1 Cavan are slightly less than Leicester's 5,000/1 at the start of the 2015/16 Premier League season

Wonder what odds you would have got on them to win Ulster before the championship

Or Tipp to win Munster for that matter

Cavan was 20/1 to win Ulster before round 1.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

10/1 Dublin have to default due to Covid

Maybe the Covid All-Ireland will be won by the county whose name most looks like the name of the disease

Ulster counties have a grand record of winning All-Irelands in years with US presidential elections - 1948, 1952, 1960, 1968, 1992, 2008, 2012

Not a question of venue but still a technical one nonetheless, will the jerseys be regarded as a colour clash?

I would imagine Dublin will be in a changed jersey as its GAA protocol that the home team changes.

Rossfan

"It's a neutral venue" so both should change.

That Milltown lad must be chasing some high office or National Committee in the GAA as he throws out the oul once in a generation, others try harder line.

(If only his own County tried harder they might displace Fermanagh as the 8th best team in Ulster)

No high office for me, I'm just a small cog in all of this

We are a dual county, we are in Div1 b in hurling next year and hopefully stay up, we spend a lot less on our teams, and gurn a lot less. displacing Fermanagh isn't the target, getting out of div 4 is.

Thats the big myth in the GAA, that Dublins home pitch is Parnell Park. If there was ever a motion needed it would be to declare Croke Park as Dublins home ground, then a lot of this rubbish about Croke park hosting all these games would soon vanish.

Anyway, time for Cavan to move on. The GAA arent interested in fairness, they are interested in money and helping the big teams as much as possible. Cavan need to accept the game will be in Croke Park and get on with preparing for it.

But it costs the GAA more to open Croker than provincial grounds...

Dublin played all their games in Croker in the provincial championship for years because all the other leinster counties (except Laois I think) voted for it.  Only championship game that dublin ever got to pick Croker as their home game was for the super 8s last year.

Do Cavan really care where it's played? Based on the player interviews since Sunday they don't. I wonder are the Tipp footballers complaining about playing their semi final in Croke Park given that is practically a home game for Mayo given all the games they've played there

Dublin played all their games in Croker in the provincial championship for years because HQ lined the pockets of the delegates of all the other leinster counties (except Laois I think) who voted for it.

Fixed that for you. Why on earth would any counties vote to play all their home games away otherwise??

Milltown Row2

I honestly think Cavan shouldn't bother turning up. All counties outside of Leinster should just play for their own titles. we could allow some of the unfortunate counties within Leinster to play in Munster and Ulster

It's getting boring now. Nothing but excuses as to why your counties can't keep up with the Dubs. Everyone hyping Dublin up too much just to make it look worse when we lose. Cavan will easily cover that ridiculous 14 point spread.

Itchy

So, for the Dubs, why are you arguing to play the game in Croke Park?

If it is not an advantage to Dublin as ye claim, why not play it somewhere else? Why would you care where it is played as long as its not Breffni? Ye are 1/100 on to win this game so it shouldnt matter where it is played. You cant go to it, will have to watch it on TV, so why does it matter where it is played?

Cavan management are on record wanting it outside Croker so please, no arguments that certain players want to play in Croke park.

Angelo

The game should certainly be played outside Croke Park and if Cavan bring the same heart, desire and intensity they should certainly give a good account of themselves.

GAA FUNDING CHEATS CHEAT US ALL

Milltown Row2

I personally would like more games that would not be able to pull 30 thousand fans outside of Croke, semi finals should all be spread around the country when things open up, revenue is a big driver here, obviously this year there won't be the 80 thousand available..

But its not a Dublin thing, more of a Headquarters thing, Dublin just happen to be based in Dublin..

So the semi final should be moved just to keep the winning score line respectable??
