First time opening a thread men and women, heard an ad on the wireless there about a top GAA player who had to flee under dissident threat to Australia? Is this the case or is it just the Sunday Life being extravagant with the truth?

sligoman2

That might be fake news the real Donald.  Any more specifics?
I used to be indecisive but now I'm not too sure.

Wasn't McCarron run out of Tyrone a few years ago?

Literally that's all it said. It was a proper advertisement but I can't find anything online or anything. In this case I suspect its more Over the top news as opposed to fake news.

Tony Baloney

Sunday Life a total rag. Don't let yourself get sucked in.

Therealdonald

Aww well aware it's a rag and I don't normally read it. But if they're using the GAA as a headline they must reckon they have a big story.

imtommygunn

On the radio a lot today just with what donald said as headlines. It really is gutter press.

Syferus

Might want to hold the derision until after you read the story.

Eh? No.

Just the usual derision thrown at the Sindo and the Indo here makes little sense in the context of an article that hasn't been published yet. And if the player is saying what the headline is, it's hardly the Sindo that people should be focusing on anyways.

Tyroneforsam

The article is about a club gaa player in tyrone.

The term 'GAA star' is basically used by the media to describe anyone who ever kicked a ball in his life.
If you were any use you'd be playing.
