Quote from: jcpen on April 10, 2024, 10:02:43 AMHaven't seen the Saka penalty incident yet but it definitely wasn't a penalty.

Most blatant, bordering on comical, attempt by an attacker to engineer contact I've ever seen!

I didn't see all the angles of the foul on Grealish's leading to their goal from the free kick but it certainly looked at first glance that he made sure he made contact with the tackler. Trailing a leg or indeed kicking the tackler seems to have better than even chances of getting a pen- Anthony Gordon the other week against West Ham being a case in point.

Quote from: smort on April 09, 2024, 10:34:38 PMIs the all-star team still decided by trial matches?

Just seen the team posted there and no players from Omagh, Dungannon or Donaghmore

Yeah, well the hurling definitely is & I assume the football is the same. They are a nonsense
I'm sure the argument is that good players on shit teams may get overlooked. Sore on boys that have a good campaign but have a poor trial.

The bar for a legend is particularly low these days.

Quote from: Bord na Mona man on April 07, 2024, 09:19:13 AMI'm surprised Joe is still peddling the Gilroy and MDMA boot story, when it was debunked.

Especially with the boy who it's about sitting beside him.

Yeah not overly many from that down minor team though I think it maybe showed them they could compete with the best of them too.

Yeah , I found that boots story  very odd  (whether it was true or not) , especially with MDMA  actually sat there. It's  like Joe  knows more about  the sanctity of the Dublin dressing room  than a fella who was actually there!

But we all know Joe likes to cosy up to  successful teams. They do everything  right and the rest do  everything wrong  ::)

Photo/video evidence and the internet have debunked a lot of latter day sporting yarns.
Jason McAteer and Tony Cascarino have also been caught out telling porkies about their Ireland days too.

These yarns are essential for the after-dinner circuit.

One episode and a bit into Ripley and the casting of Freddie Miles has put me right off. The black and white noir cinematography worked really well in the NYC scenes but really want to see some blue skies and sea in Italy!

Not half. I've seen it all now - people admitting they are wrong rather than doubling down just doesn't seem right.

I'd love to have seen the gate receipts vs attendance at Casement back in the day. The gatemen used let half of West Belfast in on a nod and a wink.

Quote from: RedHand88 on March 27, 2024, 03:32:51 PMDune part two is an absolute masterpiece in film making. Loved it so much I saw it twice.
Watched it on Monday. Absolutely class.
Does it matter if I haven't watched the first Dune film or read the book,to enjoy Dune 2?
It's on Netflix or other alternatives. I'd watch it before looking at 2 as it does provide the background.

Quote from: bennydorano on April 01, 2024, 11:46:55 PMWatched a great Australian horror film called Talk to Me, really good for that type of film. I'll give it a year or 2 b4 it gets a Hollywood remake.
Is that the one with the hand? Great movie. I'm not a massive fan of horrors but watched this at Halloween and really enjoyed it.
