No not the great Coen brothers movie but the dung currently on bbc1. I thought bbc1 promised us that The Hole In The Wall Gang would never darken our screens again. Not unless their deaths were being televised live.

...what the f**k?! I had to do a double take when I saw the ad for this on tv where Cross and Armagh's finest is presenting this thursday with Chris de Burgh's daughter!

Oisin never came across as the most charismatic character when interviewed so he wouldn't seem a natural choice for this gig! Maybe Kieran 'Charisma' McGeeney was unavailable.

Check this out at 10.45 tonight on BBC1 NI. I've seen the ad for it and it made me want to vomit. Are children really getting princess carriages and wearing makeup etc to their First Holy Communion?! No school or priest should allow these monstrosities anywhere near a chapel!

Need to get flights to Lisbon in May next year for a wedding but not seeing anything less than 250 quid. Anyone know who flies there direct from Ireland or if there are any charter flights to nearby locations as I might be cheaper booking a weeks holiday than just a flight at this rate!

Am I the only one getting f**king sick of all the petty whataboutery with OWC and various aspects of unionism. I defended the general discussion section the other day and said it didn't need changed but it's a joke with so many threads all ploughing the same furrow. What about another best looking tennis player or olympian thread  ;D

I can login to the site using the internet on my phone but for some reason it will not let me post. Any explanations out there? Phone in a Nokia N95 8Gb on O2 if that makes any difference.

Apparently O'Neill's (makers of the Hunger Strike 25th Anniversary jerseys) are in the running to supply the kit for Portydown FC. As you can imagine it is a popular choice...

Street sweep truck sucks up dog

A street-sweeping truck has sucked a dog up through its bristles on a New York street, leaving its horrified owner holding nothing but the lead.

Robert Machin, 57, had just finished walking his two Boston terriers in the Bronx and was about to load them into his car when the truck appeared.

He recalls being whipped around, only to glimpse Ginger meeting her end in the sweeper's round brushes.

City sanitation officers described the dog's death as "rare and unfortunate".

But Mr Machin, a retired public transport worker, questioned whether the driver had been observing proper procedures.

The truck, he said, seemed to have been barrelling through the street at an unsafe speed.

Truck chase

"It happened so fast," he told the New York Daily News.

"It spun me around, and as it spun me around, I caught a last glimpse of her.

"I was devastated. I was completely dumbfounded and shocked. I mean, I just witnessed my dog sucked up into a street sweeper."

He said he had chased the truck for about two and a half blocks, shouting for the operator to stop.

The driver eventually came back but refused to turn off the whirring brushes that had crushed Ginger, until he arrived, the paper adds.

The Department of Sanitation offered its condolences to Mr Machin and his family but added: "It is important for all New Yorkers to remember to maintain the safety of their animals while walking city streets."

Ginger's master who, according to the New York Daily News, plans to contact the Humane Society and hire a lawyer, said his lost dog had been like family to him.

"My children are all grown up," he said.

"These two dogs, they're my life," he added, choking back tears.
