I walk fairly regularly  (3 to 3.5 miles)

Lately, I've been getting pains  top of both feet and a few inches  up the front leg muscles

Never had this before , and I normally do  a lot of walking ( with some jogging thrown in).

I  always do warm up and stretch before , and warm down  after as well . Wearing same trainers as well.  It's quite  annoying , I've had to  cut short the walks a couple times lately

Any advice?

Have a quick google about chronic compartment syndrome and see if your symptoms match up. I struggled for years with this until in a physio for another reason and on the treadmill it flared up.

Update on my di2 battery. Took it to the local bike shop - registered shimano service centre located on the Ormeau road (will let yous work out who it is).

They have found the battery to be faulty and are now trying to charge the following:
£30 diagnostics
£30 fitting
£50 warranty admin fee

£110 all in. Ribble have basically laughed at this quote and said they will only cover £50.

So now I am in the position of having to make up the extra £60 for a battery that is faulty and in warranty, or remove the battery myself and post it back to ribble, and be without a bike for I don't know how long.

Am I in the minority to think the quote I got was abit mad? What would yous do?

anyone with a shimano 105 di2 12 speed noticing a serious battery drain? I'm not sure if its the cold weather, but I checked my battery level on Sunday, it showed green (50% plus) - done my normal commute on monday (10km each way) and it died on my journey home on Tuesday, less than 40km since it showed green.

Considering getting a new car. Any recommendations for an SUV type, budget is around 15K? Was looking at the VW troc, but know next to nothing about cars and generally consider it pot luck.

Done 3,000km this year - 90% of this was commuting. Managed 150 active days on strava. I've signed up for the Ring of Kerry, so planning on joining a club in belfast for some longer rides. Would love to have a go at the mtb, but none of my mates are into cycling and I don't know if I have the skills. Speaking of the RoK, anyone have any good training tips or plans? I think the thing I struggle most with on longer rides is pacing and fuelling.

Anyone interested in buying a slightly damaged titanium frame? It's a XS Ribble CGR, it was three weeks old before I rode it into a pole, creating a dent in the downtube! Sent it back to ribble and they confirmed it was safe, but my wife wanted me to get it replaced. Looking around 600 for it, anyone interested send me a PM and I can send photos answer any questions you might have!

I'm thinking about doing the ring of Kerry next year, and was thinking the best thing for me to do would be to join a cycling club, anyone a member of any of the Belfast clubs that they would recommend? I've not really rode in a group before as I am a commuter.

Any recommendations for insurance? Taking delivery of my new bike today, and think it would be wise to cover it.

I’ve just purchased a Ribble CGR, it will be used mainly for commuting but I would sort of like to try out a few trails! Anyone know where abouts in belfast would be best for this type of riding?

Anyone got recommendations for dealing with mould on a garden shed roof. Im positive its not leaking, I think the moisture was in the wood at the time of building. I've seen anti mould paint, should I just go ahead and give the roof a coat or would there be anything else needed before this?

Roof or celing majestic? I've used anti mould paint on a shed ceiling (hardwood) before, good job. Haven't had to reapply in over a year

I'm coming to the end of a 3 year part time masters course in Software development, to enable me to change careers. I work for a large firm in Belfast and spoke with my current employer about changing roles from an operations type role to a dev role. I was told that this would be supported but has recently been pulled and told that the role available would be more a BA type role, while keeping some of my own current responsibilities. My initial thoughts are that this is not the way to go as I am more interesting in dev/coding and want to gain experience here ASAP. They are selling the fact that I would be able to keep my current salary and would gain more exposure to the dev team and therefore help a transition in 12-18 months if I decided to go that way. Wondering what the starting salary for junior devs would be if anyone has any info that would be helpful, so I can weigh up my options?

Not sure on the junior dev salary in Belfast but you'd be wasting 12-18 months of your career sticking with the role they offered. You need to be writing code in real world delivery/best practice rather than doing coding problems and tutorials.

Yeah - I was thinking this myself, I am really keen to start learning in a professional setting as soon as possible, and as Ethan mentioned I really want to find a role that will help develop my skills.

Is there anywhere that you and Ethan would avoid in terms of churning out the same stuff week in week out? Also, anywhere you would recommend for a strong learning and development culture?

On another topic, any React-Native developers on here? I am trying to create an app which will use some image processing, I was going to use Open CV, but this requires Native Modules and the code to to written in Objective-C, feel like I have bitten off more than I can chew for my final project.
