Bordertown series 1 was decent and no issue with it being subtitled, series 2 is English dubbed and takes away from the enjoyment of it.

Donegal, 4 points up at HT, proceed to lose by 3 to Fermanagh.

Good old Letterkenny!
Donegal finished with 13.

The likes of Higgins & Moran really struggled tonight. Father Time is saying hello. Didn't have the legs. Disappointed in Dublin. Normally they are ruthless. Only for Hennelly it would have been a slaughter

Higgins did very well in scrambled defence. Andy did ok apart from product and legs had nothing to do with that. Higgins still has legs to spare and Andy was never about legs ever.

The only time Higgins seen Costello was for the throw ins at the start of each half. The rest of the time was spent chasing shadows or dealing with the rebounds after yet another goal chance/save by Hennelly.
Exaggerations don't prove damn all. Costello had a very good night and is having a fine league after bench warming for last 5 years plus injuries. He got away with 8/9 steps before he played the ball once he had caught it leading up to his goal, do you not think this caused Higgins to slip as any decent defender is waiting on the attacker to play the ball and then pounce?

Mayo played mostly with no spare man back so was 1-on-1 stuff. Result and performance dampens down the early league gains but as Moysider rightly says it is early days and poor league displays have preceded good championship runs previously. Time to regroup and have a cut at the bad recent record with our neighbours to the south.

This incident was pretty embarrassing. However, he wasn't from Laois. He was actually from Kerry. He wore the Laois jersey but didn't represent the views of Laois GAA people.

The emotional Laoisman!!

Galway team. Strong rumours going around that a few Corofin players will start so changes expected before throw in.

1 Ruairi Lavelle
2 Eoghan Kerin
3 Jonny Duane
4 David Wynne
5 Gary O'Donnell
6 Gareth Bradshaw
7 Johnny Heaney
8 Thomas Flynn
9 Ciaran Duggan
10 Shane Walsh
11 Peter Cooke
12 Sean Kelly
13 Padraig Cunningham
14 Cein D'Arcy
15 Antaine O'Laoi
Be interesting to see who will pick up Tommy Walsh if he starts at 14. See David Cunnane replaced Seán Andy v Dublin but looks bit off county standard.

Highlights, with the penalty incident from two new angles..
https://youtu.be/cYwvd00Cwj4

8 steps or so before defender takes him out, no penalty right call and Gough deserves credit for that. Poster calling him dishonest need their head examined. Reffing Gaelic football nearly an impossible task with the tackle in our game and all the slabbering and pushing that goes on.

::)

Thats ridiculous
you have to wonder when is the last time some poster saw A o Sé play .
there maybe as good but there is no better player in the country . big strong skilful mobile great had massive engine and a great football brain . what's not to like
I would have him Midfield every match

It's obviously a game of opinions but to say there is no better player in the country....I'd have to disagree...he's not even the best player on the Mayo team (Keegan)

Big Murphy could also give him a masterclass if it's big man v big man yr after

Our Aido has got the better of Murphy a few times and the Donegal man did not line if at all.
I'm sure Murphy lies awake at night worrying about the few times AOS got the better of him
Not sure what value you get from that last post but reality is that Murphy does not like the physicality that our Aido brings in their confrontations. Murphy lords it physically usually in one on one's.

So is the belief the rule is shit because people can switch or because the granny rule is too far removed to truly have allegiance to a country? I can't speak for every irish american but I'd be able to play in ireland (mom) usa (born) and italy (dads parents) and I'd play in that order respectively so there's plenty of people who'd play for ireland based on at least parent rule. But I fully believe that when you move up, friendlies or not, that should count as choosing your country.

I dont think eligibility is the issue. Nationality can be nuanced. The issue is more that he was Irish, changed agent, strung us along, became English. Its a snakey, hungry call.

It's just soccer. It's typical soccer behaviour. It's what those people are. Out for themselves, no loyalty, lining their own pockets. Money. People should just let it go.

Those people?

He was never Irish, he was British and played for the Rep of Ireland and now he wants to play for England.

Let it go lads before you sound as whiny as the IFA have done over the last number of years.

Who is whining? Im happy its over, he should have been shown the door the minute he wavered.

If its ok with you people on a discussion forum would like to discuss things.

attendance only 6500. corresponding fixture 2 years ago had 8500. tyrone support getting smaller and smaller.

The corresponding fixture two years ago was a sun drenched day in late March. It was championship weather.

Sunday past was as bad as it gets conditions wise.
can't always blame the weather. Kerry had near 13000 at first game in worse conditions. Mayo had 11000 in a storm first Saturday night.
on attendances, as has been mentioned before mayo understate their home gates for every league match and have been at it for at least the last 5-7 years. they are fairly consistent  with the understatement, usually in the region of 2-3k,more on occasion.
i assume they are doing this by pocketing the money from tickets bought with cash on the night and using certain capable stewards on certain turnstiles.
Under 16s got in free for Rosscommon home game, are these included in attendance figure as they still go in through turnstile?

For as long as I remember attendance figures always understated.

When you see some of the dross shown as live sport on TV look at link below and the stars of present and future on show tonight in Belfield.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sportsjoe.ie/amp/gaa/electric-ireland-dcu-ucd-192666

Sigerson can get a hard rap from those who don't go to the matches and see everything through county team tinted glasses but it consistently produced high standard attacking football.

Do you ever wonder why people might care more about their county than a 3rd level institution they've never set foot in?  ::)

My point is the high standard of football consistently produced in Sigerson that could be broadcast live on TV like the under 21 hurling on TG4 the last few years.

Is it not broadcast on TG4? It certainly was at one point.

As for the hard rap - I've never seen anyone criticise the standard. Not sure where you're going with that.
I said it gets a bad rap from those who just see things through county colours and tut tut all else. Tonight's game being streamed live, think semi and/or final showed on TG4.

It's the loss of hope. The common Tyrone football fan knows the Gap between themselves and Dublin. The Mayo fan has forgotten about last year and still harks back to Mayo losing by 1 point in 2017! They think their mainstay are the same, and forget they will be 2 years older this year. Years of being ''Close'' and bouncing back the next year, gives renewed false hope.
