Story sounds great and all that, but I see is family are all still working in ordinary jobs, so it doesnt look like he gave them anything.   "Money means nothing to me"  but maybe it meant something to his close family.  He could have spared them a bit doe and blew the rest, so a bit of a ballbag for that

Sonny Joe i was going to start a thread on this when I came back from my lunch and you beat me to it.  A bloody disgrace, but wait til you see the pitiful sentences these guys involved get which will be an even bigger disgrace.  I too found it very hard to watch when you know that they wouold be doing that to one of your loved ones if they were looking after them.  Felt like turning it off when listening to the patients poor parents, but somethings although difficult are better off seeing and hearing.

I think there should also be a rule that you have to take a drink when he quinches his nose up and squints his eyes together and his glasses move up slighty.  You have to keep drinking until he stops holding this pose which will either be A) when the person who is talking finishes saying what Joe clearly disagrees with or B) More likely interupts him and you stop drinking your beer and take a shot instead.l

Saw NEDS there at the weekend and as someone pointed out average enough.
Seen three days later with Russel Crowe, good show but a bit for fetched.
Seen another film A Prohet, french subtitled, brilliant.  Said on the back of box  "God Father meets Scarface"   that drew me in.

Plenty of great foreign language films out there if you can out up with reading subtitles.  I mentioned a few pages back a couple.  Mesrine - about a famous french bank robber, good show and the other one was Tell No One.  Brilliant.  Im just wondering has anybody took me on :D and watched them, and what they thought of them.

Ah aye got Secret in their Eyes to watch tonight.  Argentinian film, won an oscar, anyone seen it?
Seen it lad, good show.  But i tell ye whats even better, the book!  A real eye opener into the economic systems at work in Europe.  A must read if your interested in those books on organised crime

One time in the rugby club bar in Drogheda, I was getting a round which included a Paddy. I saw the barman fill a Powers. I said nothing until everything was in. Just as I was about to pay, I said "hold on" and I picked up the whiskey and had a good look at it. Then I took a sniff and said to the barman "that's not Paddy, that's Powers". Dirty look, whiskey replaced, not a word.

I'm small-minded enough to have taken great pleasure from that and a small victory for the punter against the massed ranks of the contemptuous floggers of alcohol is no harm.
you should have taken a swig aswell  :D

I was slightly disappointed with Un Prophete, don't get me wrong it was a solid 7/10 but the reviews (like the one you mentioned on the back of the dvd case) maybe put up my expectations too much.

I really loved Mesrine though, excellent films. I think Vincent Cassel is a great actor though, watch La Haine, a film he did about the slums of Paris years ago, very good.

Have lent a few of those dvds out, would need to get them all gathered up.

Must look up that "Tell No One" film.

The Lives Of Others is a good German one about the Stasi secretly monitoring actors, musicians etc back in the 80s. Great show.
Know what you mean Don.  But I read on the internet that nearly the whole film was him in prison, so it sort of braced me for the fact that it wouldn be a as glamorous andwasnt going to be the same meteoric rise of a ganster like in scarface or godfather.  More realistic in a way and lends itself to a sequel.  Vincent Cassel is a super actor.  Must have a watch at those other films you mentioned.
Im thinking about signing up to Ilovefilm.com via the PS3.  Think its £10 a month and unlimited streaming of movies to your PS3.  Has anyone done it or know what its like?

80. Fall out of a tree while helping your young nephews with building their tree house and attend ER for around 4-5 hours

Know a guy who worked and lives in the south, lost his job (well paid mangers job in fruit of loom) when they closed up a few years back.  He had two kids at the time, has two more now and has been offered a few decent jobs and hes says that he genuinely cant afford to take the jobs as he is on over 400 yoyos a week!  Now that is just bloody rediculous!  The state were asking for bother with benfits as high as that.

Dirty Cnuts!!

Yeah i hope the Bank machine has got them on camera.

I have a house alarm but how many times have you heard a house alarm go off and no one actually call round and check? Ive checked the neighbours out a few times but seem to be on my own, with my hurling stick!!
The cops telll you that there is no stats available to back up if an alarm actually reduces the chance of burglary but they still recommend one.  Also seen a program with reformed burglars presenting it! and they said n alarm is definetly a deterrent to the average robber as he will just go to the next house that doesnt have one.  Seem applies to gates in your drive and that.  Did anyone else ver get the wee invisible markers off the cops that you mark all your stuff up with.  Then if it gets stolen its shows up under UV light.
A fella one of the mates knows in Kilkeel caught a guy breaking in, bate the lining out him with a hurl, dragged him up the stairs, and phoned the cops and told them he came into the bedroom.  When the cops came round the scum bag was trying to tell them that the guy dragged him up.  But the cops had none of it and hit him a few digs for lying  :D  He got 4 years !!  Good enough for him

Yawn leo yourself. Mature debate only

Why dismiss Leo's point? Its getting fierce tiresome..how many anti-Lizzy folk on here claim the British dole, British housing benefit, support British soccer teams, take weekend breaks in Britain, buy British products, shop in British supermarkets, go / went to a British university, ie support the British and their economy?
Fair point, were do ye draw the line.  However, though I dont have a problem with the visit as I hope and think it will do more good than bad people shouldnt be lambasted for voicing there objection to it.  I thinks unfair that the people who object are grouped with the scum bags who were protesting/burning bins in dublin.
