Hardly a shock but not right all the same

Conor Quinlan was asked up to the Laois senior panel pre season and opted not to himself. This seems to be an autistic work of fiction by Mark Delaney

He was backed up by ballypickas as well to be fair, realistically if castletown and slieve bloom not joined would ben conroy have played senior, a lot of lads dont like the gales teams but it provides an oppurtunity for players from junior clubs, for instance donnacha harnett was one of the best players in senior b  last year, would not suprise me if a kevin bergin, an mj lalor or cillian mcevoy did likewise this year

Oh give up. You are actually being more of a know all by implying you know better or more than the rest of us.It was a rotten performance by any known metric or opinion. Feeble and embarrassing. It will get better because it couldn't get any worse

How? Where do i imply that im a know it all? All i want is a bit of perspective, the easiest thing in the world is to criticise, it was round 1 of the league with 5 debutants and half a team missing through injury and theres people already getting their shovels out to bury creedon

Fitness, tackling, defensive structure and intensity - things that supporters are saying we were missing, all take time to be worked on. And if it wasnt these things it be something else to complain about. When we had mcnulty in charge what did the players have? Answer - intensity, defensive structure, tackling and fitness. What were results like? Answer 2011 league final, 2012 all ireland quarter final lost by 2 to all ireland champions, 2013 forth round qualifiers lost to all ireland champions - what did the supporters do? Answer complained that the team werent attacking enough and basically ran the man out of his job, as was done with kearns, as was done with micko, so while ye may complain about being fickle or demanding its a good discription of laois followers. Unfortunetly this county has critics and know it alls not supporters

Its the first round of the league lads with what was basically half a B team with all the injuries, in the space of one week opinion has went from promotion and all ireland quarter final to relegation to Division 4, once again laois supporters show themselves up to be one of the most fickle and demanding crowds in the land

No club was going to potentially sacrifice their senior status, decisions like these should probably be left out of clubs hands as bad as that sounds

The point is you give 8 clubs a chance of actually winning something instead of just surviving, creates a competitive championship(senior b) it strengthens laois in the leinster club championship, if i was to harbour a guess your club is probably one that is in danger of been regraded. What do clubs want, to be competing for championships or for quarter finals, then clap themselves on the back and say good year.

Theres 27 clubs between senior and junior a, it makes absolutely no sense that 16 of them are senior, it actually devalues the status of been a senior club, at the moment despite the county final portlaoise are still ahead of the rest, one loss in 10 years doesnt change that, theres probably 2 or 3 teams a bit below them, after that everyone is on a simular level with no chance of competing, splitting the championship should give every club with something to play for and provide an ultra competitive second tier
