Without doubts the greatest team to ever play the game.I don't care how much money they have that is the best team I have ever had the pleasure to watch hats off up the DUBS.

Really? Crab football? Brutal to watch. No wonder the crowd were booing.

So why should Dublin be blamed when Kerry were just funnelling back all their numbers into defence instead of trying to win the ball

Is this the first GAA game where a team never gets a scoreable free in a game???

Gough was excellent.

Dublin didn't quite get going today as a) they were rightly pulled up for fouling and b) Fenton (must have been injured) was a passenger. Gavin had an unusually poor game too.

He wasn't at all. Kerry should have finished with 14 players.

Maybe. Cooper got a warning, then a yellow then a red. O'Sullivan got his warning after the yellow. No matter what Gough did there someone would have called him inconsistent.

We'd a great game of football, and the refereeing played a major part in that. Men could hit each other and tackle each other, but dragging and pulling was a no-no.

Maybe referees should start punishing the better teams more so we get competitive matches.

So you don't / can't / won't accept that Cooper was sent off for a third offence ?

O'Sullivan had also given away earlier frees in the game though

Yes but he clearly spoke to Cooper about deliberate fouling.

There are certain fouls/actions that are a yellow no matter what has went before. The tackle with the close fist into the ribs in the first half for example that he issued a noting for. The Crowley tackle with the foot that he did give a yellow for and the last foul by Sullivan that he didn't. It's the inconsistency that is frustrating.
Fist tackle to the body when attempting to get the ball is a noting. It is not a yellow as per the rules

There was no attempt to get the ball though. O'Callaghan was flying past after getting the ball and he swung a closed fist into his midsection

So you are saying that swinging a guy to the ground is not a yellow card because he was booking other players for the exact same thing?

How do you explain a guy on a yellow card swinging a guy to the ground not getting a card?

Whilst I thought the penalty was a ridiculously soft decision (which led to Coopers first yellow card) how can a closed fist punch not be a card?

Kilkenny won 7 titles in 8 years (took a two year break and then won another three in a row) and people didn't complain in the hurling world. Lets get realistic - Mayo spend nearly as much on county teams as Dublin do but don't have a serious hurling team to pay for.

Obviously fancy the dubs to win but reckon this could be another mayo cracker. Hopefully it's more mayo V Donegal than mayo V Kerry. Dublin have pretty much had a 3 week break compared to mayo one and that's the key here.

Would love mayo to do it but just can't see it.

It's a no brainer and unfortunately makes Dublin's ultimate achievement flawed, through no fault of their own.

It's shameful scheduling. I know everybody is all hyped up about this game because of recent history blah, blah blah. That's nice but the reality is that it is a load of bollocks. It is impossible for Dublin to lose this. If both teams went in in same conditions, Dublin would still win in all probability. Mayo would have a punchers chance though. Tomorrow Mayo have no chance.

Well if Mayo had won the Connacht championship they wouldn't have these issues

And bring yer own fcukin tea this time.

Do people search bags in Omagh, Would it be hard to smuggle in a few cans?
Heard them chatting on Newstalk one night and they were saying that whatever chance Tyrone have of beating the Dubs in a semi or final.
There is no way they're gonna beat them twice in the space of a month so Harte would be crazy to go all out and show his "red" hand in this game.

For those who believe, Mickey goes all out to win all games he plays needs to stop taking the man at his word. He's like Jim Gavin in that respect in that what he does is often very different to what he said.
Didn't Jim say last Sat that Roscommon gave them a good challenge.
That's the only hope I have for any team getting Dublin in the semi, is that it will be like the old system where they have come through a few very easy games and are caught cold by a team at a much higher intensity having built up momentum.

Of course all the Dubs want to see teams open up and play a much more expansive style of football like say Cork did but the Dubs will tear most teams apart if you give them that much space and one on one battles. Mannion, O'Callaghan, Costello, Kilkenny and of course Jack the lad would do some damage if left one on one with loads of space in front of them.

Dublin fans want to see open games because they are more enjoyable to watch. Watching Dublin v's Tyrone where they've played defensive hasn't made it too much harder for Dublin to win

GAA Discussion / Re: Dublin v Cork 13 July 2019

It was great to see a team take it to Dublin yesterday and it was a very good performance by Cork. It would be great if more teams could adopt this style of football.

From a Dublin perspective it was great to see Cooper (best defender), Murchan (best man marker) and McCarthy back from injury.

It does look as if Dublin are waiting for the last 3 games - Tyrone in Omagh and the semi-final/final to get the intensity levels up.

I actually hope this motion gets passed and Dublin play one of the counties who vote for it such as Donegal/Tyrone/kerry etc get drawn to play Dublin and the game gets moved to Parnell Park and they get 2-300 tickets and get smashed at the same time and when they come looking for funding next season they get told - sorry the attendance/income dropped last year so there is no money available for you.
