From what I've read, this applies to inter-county teams only. Club teams won't be effected.
I can't remember where I read that though, I'll see if I can find it

Here's the piece I read - it's from hoganstand.com

All inter-county GAA jerseys will have their numbers visible from all angles next year, it has been announced by Croke Park.

All jerseys will have their numbers on both their front and back but clubs won't be forced to go the same road.

"It will come in from January next year," GAA President Nickey Brennan confirmed. The move had been mooted at Congress in April but it was decided to not to apply the ruling until 2008."

Referees will thus no longer have need to ask players to turn around so as to identify their numbers.

Will this mean that all teams will be getting new jerseys next year?

I wouldnt be too happy if mayo had got a new jersey last year and only use it for the one year before then change it.

Sure isn't it cooler to have an out of date "retro" jersey anyhow?  It shows you're no Johnny-come-lately!  :D

I think it has to be really old to count! 2 or 3 years out of date, you just look like you can't be bothered getting the new one; 20 years old and you're hardcore!
